This is the other side of the condemned building that is being used for practice drills by our local fire fighters. The Townsend crew is the best and it has been fun watching them practice. It is definitely teamwork that makes them the safest they can be!

A U.S. Air Force fighter pilot with the 157th Fighter Squadron, South Carolina Air National Guard at McEntire Joint National Guard Base, taxis an F-16 Fighting Falcon Block-52 fighter jet to launch for a mission during a Readiness Exercise, July 12, 2013. Members of the 169th Fighter Wing are preparing for a Certified Readiness Evaluation, which evaluates a unit’s ability to process personnel and equipment from home station to a deployed location safely and efficiently, then operate and launch missions in a chemical combat environment.

The last rose of Summer, rescued from sure death in an impending frost. She thanked me by blooming over the next four days, captured here. This was my wife Sandy's favorite rose because it fought against Winter so bravely.
These aircraft can be found at the Virginia Beach Airport in Virginia, USA. That private facility includes the Aviation Institute of Maintenance, Military Aviation Museum, and the Fighter Factory.

Sir Keith Park commanded the Royal Air Force 11 Group Fighter Command – the squadrons which bore the brunt of the Battle of Britain. The failure of Nazi Germany to defeat the RAF in 1940 was Hitler’s first major setback – and forced him to call off his planned invasion of Britain. This statue to Park, the leader of The Few, is on the fourth plinth in London’s Trafalgar Square beneath Nelson’s Column – a memorial to another British hero who defended our nation’s freedom in her hour of need.
