born William Ward in Norfolk VA
American boxer
"Norfolk was a short and stocky fighter who was quick and powerful; He possessed a natural instinct for fighting and took on all-comers, large or small; In a career of 103 bouts, he lost just 15 - against top-flight, world-class competition; The "Kid" is one of the super, over-looked fighters in boxing history who should have had a title shot but never received it
During his career, he defeated such men as Harry Greb, Billy Miske, Battling Siki, Jeff Clark, "Tiger" Flowers, Lee Anderson, Jack Blackburn, Arthur Pelkey, "Big" Bill Tate, Tom Cowler, George Robinson, Dan "Porky" Flynn, Clay Turner, Black Fitzsimmons, Jamaica Kid, John Lester Johnson and James "Tut" Jackson."
A group of steam driven fighters inspired by the movie Steamboy from Katsuhiro Otomo.
A bit of the story behind these planes is that they were invented in the future, after an industrial apocalypse caused the common people to have to revert back to the more pure power of steam, and the technology was advanced like never before. The rebel factions trying to overcome the Industrial Empire quickly invented chambers capable of highly compressing steam beyond any limit known before, and invented the fighters capable of utilizing this new power. They are equipped with steam hoses leading to jets on the back for extra speed, as well as normal props to assist in take off. I hope you all enjoy the pictures.

Here's this crazy thing from the bottom. Heavy missile racks, snot contouring, folding landing gear - it's got all the right ingredients. So why is it so awful.

1/72 Revell kit Airco DH2 WW1 fighter.
Very fidly little kit, especially the struts and tail, but i'm pleased with the results. Would look better with the rigging but i don't have the skill!
View from the 356th Fighter Group, N. Canton, Ohio
"The 356th Fighter Group is the area's only authentic WWII restaurant dedicated to the heroes of the war. The 356th Fighter Group was an actual airborne team that saw combat in the European Theater. Three squadrons of planes (the 359th, e60th, & 361st) made up the 356th Fighter Group. These pilots flew the P-47 Thunderbolt and then the famed P-51 Mustang while escorting the B-17 Bombers across the English Channel to safety. This group was stationed at the Martelsham Heath Airfield in Suffolk, England. The 356th Fighter Group completed a total of 413 combat missions. It is to these brave and courageous men that we dedicate our restaurant."
These photos of old warbirds were taken at the Fighter Factory located at Virginia Beach Airport in Virginia, USA. You can learn more about this fascinating public museum at www.fighterfactory.com
How I spent most of my Saturday. I wanted to build a minifig-scale air/space fighter that was as small as possible while still looking "fly-able". The wings fold over the top for an even smaller profile. Gonna finish the cockpit and play around with different colors as soon as a couple Bricklink orders come in. Hopefully, I'll be using several of these little guys in a larger upcoming project. Hint: carrier.
Things that I found online to use for inspiration and thought I would share. Again, these are not mine! If I knew how to backtrack the creators not listed to give them credit I would. I hope that you enjoy!
