of all the pictures I took while on our trip, this is my absolute favorite. my lovely jenny in a gorgeous backdrop of new zealand landscape. we took these pictures while on the drive from queenstown to milford sound.

Es ist immer noch neblig trüb, ob das nochmal anders wird ? wg. dem fehlenden Licht zeige ich Euch auch heute ein Bild von dem fantastischen dog-walk am letzten Dienstag. Da war es sonnig, tiefstehende Sonne das die schönen Bokeh-Fotos produzierte. Natürlich muss Mann & Hund auch heute raus, aber die Kamera hatte ich seit Tagen nicht mehr mit, wer will schon dunkelgrau fotografieren ???

It's still foggy hazy, will it change sometime again? Because of the lack of light I show you today another picture of the fantastic dog-walk on last Tuesday. It was sunny then, low sun that produced the beautiful bokeh photos in my stream. Of course, Man & Dog has go out every day, but the camera I've had in days not with me, who wants to photograph already dark gray ???

a field, again. i really like fields.

For Our Daily Challenge topic - 'Ritual.' Every morning early Wiki and I walk together down the street and into the field that surrounds where we live. We go at her speed and mostly I follow her and pause when she pauses, notice what see sees and every single day I see something new. We've been doing this for almost two years and there's a large set of photos in 'Walking With Wiki'

Today was the first time I laid down in the field to watch her. She thought it was all wrong and worried about me until I was up on my feet again.

This is from, believe it or not, over THREE years ago, when I went on my Seeking America rail tour of the States in the spring of 2008. I am pretty sure I shot this from the train window. See more from that adventure here.

In any case I have officially switched from Aperture to Lightroom, and the speed of the new program is oh-so-much better. I'm officially a happy convert. I had to import my old libraries, and I must say it was overwhelming and lovely and special and wistful to go through all my old travel photographs. It's funny how many gems I missed at the time—or I suppose, how my set of photographic values has been molded over time. Turns out I have a ton of great images I still look forward to sharing. Hooray!

EDIT to add a significant realization: You know what else is cool, guys? This was years before I had the great and expensive equipment I have now. My multi-camera setup and my L lenses are all well and good, but it pleases me to be reminded that anyone can create magic with any camera (see all those grand iphone photos out there, for example). It's so important not to forget that it's about finding the magic, not necessarily about nailing the perfect focus or working with devices that produce the best color or detail. That stuff's good, it's just important to not let it be the priority. For me, anyway.

There's always a rouge seed or two that manages to slide in.

Just got back from Yosemite and Sonora last night after a fun-filled trip meeting other flickrites! I had a blast in Yosemite and caught sight of the elusive Moonbow. Check to the right to see who was there and catch their amazing photos from the trip. Thanks for a wonderful weekend!

The one bad thing is I can't get my computer to boot up to download all my photos! It's all being held hostage by a bad windows patch.

I'll be sparse on flickr the next few weeks l and will visit your streams when I can.
