We stopped for ages, trying to capture this beautiful field full of poppies and other wild flowers - not easy, as it was quite a windy day. I'm not sure which, if any, I like best so I've included some more shots below.
This phone box has been placed in the middle of Mayfield Lavender fields in Surrey. Somewhat surreal but it attracts a lot of attention.

The general feeling was the original was better than the HDR version and so I have now replaced the HDR version with the original.

Cemeteries are a natural pairing of beauty and tragedy, and this is especially so for the Marysville City Cemetery in Northern California. This is a pioneer cemetery – founded in 1850 by the first settlers arriving in California. The very large area set aside as a “potter’s field” for indigent individuals seems poignant to me. The cemetery suffered major flooding several months ago when Northern California experienced extraordinary rainfall. For this area of the cemetery, however, where there were no gravestones and monuments to topple, it seems that a lush green carpet is laid for these poor souls.
For We’re Here! because today the Hereios are searching for *Beauty in a Tragedy*.
