Delight in Being in the world

The fields and hillsides in Sharon, Idaho near Emigration Canyon get a nice variety of wildflowers in the spring. Camas and a variety of yellow flowers lead to an aspen grove in the distance. The tall green leaves will soon be clusters of large yellow arrowleaf balsamroot.

We finished 2022 harvest last week and we were rewarded with this amazing sunset that evening. It was just in time, the following day temperatures plummeted into the 30s and today we are seeing our first measurable snow of the season!

What a lovely bright yellow field of sunflowers! Although the massive, bright blue TransMontana of LTE had priority in the publishing ( flic.kr/p/2q3NiJV ), here is a landscape of some beautiful plants, that I captured around a week earlier. Moreover, as the background highlights them, it's giving more power to the composition, and also makes the landscape more natural.

Golden Hour light baths the fields below Sandale, distant Lakeland tops between the ridge leading up to Binsey on the right and the Uladale Fells to the left.

Swan Creek Metropark

Whenever I get to add a new sparrow to my list, it is great! Sparrows get MUCH harder to find these days. We found these sparrows at a metropark near where we were staying.

I am really happy I was able to add three new sparrows to my list on this trip...two in Texas and one in Ohio!
