County Down , especially around the outskirts of Killyleagh , these brilliant hues of yellow can be seen.
Always a lovely contrast against a clear blue sky....a big thank you to Paul for the location of this one - cheers !
Some of you may remember a song from the early 60s called 'Ferry Cross The Mersey' by a Liverpool band called Gerry & the Pacemakers. Well, this shot was taken from the top deck of the ferry that to this day still crosses the Mersey. These days the ferry service is much diminished because other methods for crossing the river, including a tunnel underneath and a couple of bridges, have taken over. But for an hour every morning and an hour every afternoon one can still take the ferry.
This shot is of the just finished Hill Dickinson Stadium, the new home of Everton Football Club after they very recently moved away from their ancestral home at Goodison Park. I had some lovely light that morning which helped to light up the front of the stadium as we cruised past on the ferry. I have to admit when I shot this I never expected it would be a shot I'd ever be posting up on Flickr but there's something about the colours and the light and especially the form of the stadium that I really like.

Not a very imaginative title :-) Taken just outside clough in county down. Liked the light on the barley.
