I'm pleased with this painting - it gives more life to the scene. I had cropped the original photo until I got a composition I liked, but it was on the dull side [see original]. By hand-painting the photo, I could change colors, so I gave more blue to the hills and more yellow to the grass and trees. Painting allows changes to only the parts you want changed [altho the whole picture has been painted - but that's not easy to see because my style is very realistic.].

On this first day of autumn, I drove by this sunflower field in Wyoming, USA. The farm house can be seen in the far distance below the mountains in the central portion of the image.
Stopped on my way home to get a shot of the beautiful canola fields.

In recent years, the sheet-metal covering of historic Hangar One has been replaced, and it's beautiful. Ten years ago, with no covering, it looked like this:
My infrared-converted DSLR is a Nikon D750, modified by Life Pixel with their Deep BW IR (830nm) sensor filter. I use DxO PhotoLab's Black & White presets as starting points for conversion of the NEF ("raw") file. I also use the Hoodman Live View kit, which makes it easier to work with my D750 in live view mode.

The calendar says spring, the skies have opened to reveal blue skies and sunshine and according to the weather man, it just might not rain for 36 consecutive hours this weekend. I may have to venture to the Skagit Valley to confirm that winter is over.
This is a pic from last season but reports are that the daffodils are in bloom and the tulips are only a couple of weeks away.
