In Flanders Field

In Flanders fields the poppies blow

Between the crosses, row on row,

That mark our place; and in the sky

The larks, still bravely singing, fly

Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago

We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,

Loved, and were loved, and now we lie

In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:

To you from failing hands we throuw

The torch; be yours to hold it high.

If ye break faith with us who die

We shall not sleep, through the poppies grouw

In Flanders fields.

Everyone knows that most agricultural products require the fields to change every season, meaning you need to let fields sit fallow sometimes, to rest. The same is true at the Wooden Show Tulip Farm. Every year the tulips are in a different field. They have one field that lines up particularly well with Mt. Hood, that's the field they used this year. The last time this field was used was when they shut down the whole event for Covid. It's been about 6 years since the public got to see flowers in this field.

I had the treat this year of having my son greet me there, he worked at the event this year, his first job. He is also know getting into photography, so we were shooting side by side, how neat is that?

Let me know what you think if this one, my wife liked it, which means it had tons of color (she only likes the colorful shots).

If you build it they will come.

It might take 10 months though ;)

I wish you all a Nice Week Not blue on Monday.

希望大家新的星期,新的心情,壞心情退散~

A field of fully ripened lavender on a very early morning, a bunch of busy bees buzzing all around, and me lying on the ground, trying to get an upward view of these mesmerizing blooms! What a scene for the rare car that passed by on the nearby road, so awkward ...but all for the sake of photography. :) And, yes, I loved every minute of it!

Have a beautiful day my fiends!

The traces of a tractor and long shadows created a wonderful pattern in a grain field at the moment a group of joggers was passing.

The fields are turning yellow, with the rapeseed,in contrast the fresh green of the leaves.

I have been so busy lately, been out and about taking tons of photos. I love these yellow fields lately. Expect plenty more shots like this from me!

HMB! Have a wonderful week everyone!

Anzi " E' primavera ... ", perchè questa foto nella sua versione orignale "perde" qualla patina di malinconia legata a bei ricordi lontani, oramai passati...

Questo è il bello della fotografia al "tempo del digitale", perchè partendo dalla stessa foto, si può arrivare a suggestioni diverse...

Indeed "It 's spring ... ", because this image in its original version "loses" the suggestion of melancholy, linked to happy memories away, now gone ...

That's the beauty of photography at the "time of the digital age ", because starting from the same photo, you can get to different suggestions...

Within the smoky mountains tourists often come for the grand vistas, the unending cascades of mountains, the aw inspiring look at nature. The big animals, like bear, or elk, but sometimes the real beauty to behold is a tad bit smaller. Overlooking the fields at one of those aforementioned grand vistas, watching elk graze in the field, under the watchful eye of the ranger and the big bull, I noticed another scene playing out. Rows upon rows of purple wild flowers sprouting along the edges of the field, and right there, dancing butterflies. I dare not approach the scene, I dare not change lenses, I was looking for a shot of the elk. I hurriedly put the scene in my viewfinder and clicked away, before the two butterflies, simply fluttered away in the changing evening light.
