"One of the most distinctive features of Chartres Cathedral is the stained glass, both for its quantity and quality. There are 167 windows, including rose windows, round oculi, and tall, pointed lancet windows. The architecture of the cathedral, with its innovative combination of rib vaults and flying buttresses, permitted the construction of much higher and thinner walls, particularly at the top clerestory level, allowing more and larger windows. Also, Chartres contains fewer plain or grisaille windows than later cathedrals, and more windows with densely stained glass panels, making the interior of Chartres darker but the colour of the light deeper and richer."

"Chartres Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of Our Lady of Chartres (French: Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Chartres), is a Roman Catholic church in Chartres, France, about 80 km (50 miles) southwest of Paris, and is the seat of the Bishop of Chartres. Mostly constructed between 1194 and 1220, it stands at the site of at least five cathedrals that have occupied the site since the Diocese of Chartres was formed as an episcopal see in the 4th century. It is in the High Gothic and Romanesque styles.
"The cathedral was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1979, which called it 'the high point of French Gothic art' and a 'masterpiece'.
"The cathedral is well-preserved and well-restored: the majority of the original stained glass windows survive intact, while the architecture has seen only minor changes since the early 13th century. The building's exterior is dominated by heavy flying buttresses which allowed the architects to increase the window size significantly, while the west end is dominated by two contrasting spires – a 105-metre (349 ft) plain pyramid completed around 1160 and a 113-metre (377 ft) early 16th-century Flamboyant spire on top of an older tower. Equally notable are the three great façades, each adorned with hundreds of sculpted figures illustrating key theological themes and narratives.
"Since at least the 12th century the cathedral has been an important destination for travellers. It remains so to the present, attracting large numbers of Christian pilgrims, many of whom come to venerate its famous relic, the Sancta Camisa, said to be the tunic worn by the Virgin Mary at Christ's birth, as well as large numbers of secular tourists who come to admire the cathedral's architecture and historical merit.

This picture features Hannah taking the essentials out of her bag to start the process of changing from her yoga clothes to her coffee outfit. The picture was taken in the studio to fit the theme of transitioning from yoga to the rest of your day.
In this picture, leading lines and the rule of thirds were both used. Hannah's eyeline draws you to the products in the lower third of the image. In photoshop, I increased the saturation of the picture so that the products featured really pop - the labels were too dull beforehand and didn't catch your eye. I also increased the exposure because the picture had been slightly underexposed because it was taken on the edge of a room that had fluorescent lighting.

Feathery cloud bands fill Saturn's graceful crescent. Features in the
atmosphere are visible all the way to the terminator, the boundary between
night and day, where the Sun's rays are coming in almost horizontally.
Because it is possible to see down to the same level, regardless of how
high the Sun is above the horizon, this indicates that the atmosphere
above the clouds is relatively clear.
The dark line across the top of the image is the nearly edge-on ringplane.
The image was taken in infrared light (centered at 728 nanometers) with
the Cassini spacecraft wide-angle camera on Oct. 31, 2005, at a distance
of approximately 1.2 million kilometers (800,000 miles) from Saturn and at
a Sun-Saturn-spacecraft, or phase, angle of 131 degrees. Image scale is 69
kilometers (43 miles) per pixel. The image was contrast enhanced to
improve visibility of features in the atmosphere.
The Cassini-Huygens mission is a cooperative project of NASA, the European
Space Agency and the Italian Space Agency. The Jet Propulsion Laboratory,
a division of the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, manages
the mission for NASA's Science Mission Directorate, Washington, D.C. The
Cassini orbiter and its two onboard cameras were designed, developed and
assembled at JPL. The imaging operations center is based at the Space
Science Institute in Boulder, Colo.
