While several other familiar geothermal features in West Thumb Geyser Basin were showing muted colors on this cool, overcast day, this small, unnamed pool displayed a variety of colors from the pale aquamarine crystal clear water in the deep pool to an assortment of bacteria, algae, and other "extremophile" life forms in its shallower, cooler runoff. This striking feature is in the "Venting Pools" area of the basin.

"Sparrow Feeding Time" by Patti Deters. A small sparrow is feeding her even smaller young, perched on the side of a saguaro cactus, where you can just see the bright yellow beak of the baby. The mama bird is perched in the folds of the large green cactus, which serve to camouflage the nest opening. This intimate little scene was photographed in early April at Desert Botanical Gardens, in southwest Arizona, USA. Thank you for viewing this picture. CAMERA OBSCURA "Double feature"
A small 1/35th model that was made over 2 days during thanksgiving break. The main purpose of this model was to build the smallest vehicle with the Lego power functions. The model's hull is only 6 studs wide, the minimum width for 2 M Motors. It also features a full set of interlinked bogies that provide some suspension for the model, and behaves like the the Panther's torsion bar suspension. The model lacks a rotating turret because of the IR receiver.
