Gambia tour 2020.

JOY OF JOYS, my brother spotted and called HOOPOE, no way I thought !!! But yes it was, our first sighting in the Gambia. Bless its heart, it let us very near, and I have over 100 keeper images, it was completely relaxed, and never stopped grooming itself, a experience I will never forget . Seen in the Kotu area.

The first 3 babies coot at the lake near to my home.
These are the first born in 2023, they are 4 days old.
3 is not so much, I hope that at least one will survive

This is a green-winged teal drake flying at Greenway Park, across the lake from Koll wetlands. Late afternoon, taking advantage of golden hour light.
In the golden hour at the end of the day, I saw the fox lie down for a nap behind my far apple tree. I was able to get halfway up the garden to take this shot, but it still needed a long lens.
She said... "I like your car..."
He said... "You'd look good on it..."

Captured another waning gibbous moon. She rose really fast, by the time I put the camera on the tripod, she already moved way above the rooftop.
This is a blend of two exposures, the moon was captured at f/16, 2 sec, ISO 100.

Whilst I was hoping for a good shot of the Gannets on my local headland this Rock Pipit was the star of the show - busy feeding it's young. It was lovely to watch. Food seemed quite abundant.

Baltic Bees Jet Team
The Team….
Baltic Bees Jet Team was formed in 2008. First flights were flown in a two-ship formation. In the following years two more jets were added to the team and a full aerobatic display program was created. From the very beginning, flight instructor and creator of the display program is the well known skilled aerobatic pilot Valery Sobolev. The program was developed in a very short period of time and Baltic Bees Jet Team gained reputation as a professional civilian aerobatic display team.
Homebase of the team is Jūrmala Airport (EVJA), 60 km west of Riga, Latvia.
Display consists of complex and tricky vertical maneuvers in a 6 Czech Aero L-39 Albatros jets.
Formation and exceptional individual performance with unique and top difficulty concept.
The team hosts shows all over Europe and beyond, in 2019 they went on a China Tour.

"As we sat, a tiny flash of blue-gray and white sped away. A moment later, the bird returned, and went back to foraging up and down the outer branches of the vines in search of food.
The bird was white underneath and almost exclusively blue-gray up top. The wings looked a bit darker, as if some black or brown ink had been splashed in. A white eye-ring stood out against a backdrop of gray head and a slender, jet black bill.
The most remarkable thing, though, was the bird's diminutive size. Wings spread wide were just a bit more than 4 inches. My field guide says that I would need to hold five of them in my hands just to get one ounce."

Dank GoAhead, welche ihre Bestandsfahrzeuge mit ETCS ausrüsten lassen müssen, darf TRI einige Ersatzzüge rund um Stuttgart betreiben, so auch diesen hier. Zurückgegriffen wird dabei auf Material der DB, welche fast den Anschein erwirken, das das Bild einige Jahre früher aufgenommen worden sein könnte. So ist auch 111 212 als langjährige Stuttgarter Maschine keine Unbekannte auf dieser Linie, nur die Farbe hat sich leicht verändert.

Im August 2017 waren noch die urigen Malaxa 750 für den mit nur zwei Zugpaaren äußerst spärlichen Personenverkehr zwischen Medgidia und Tulcea zuständig. Ein optisch bereits etwa in Mitleidenschaft gezogenes Exemplar erreicht am Abend des 30. August 2017 als R 8655 überpünktlich den Bahnhof von Cataloi. Noch zehn Kilometer trennen den Zug hier von seinem Zielbahnhof, wofür er aber nochmals stattliche 30 Minuten benötigen wird...
