The Wyoming National Guard partnered with the Veterans Commission to support Task Force Tribute in Cheyenne, Wyo., on Aug. 26, 2022. Task Force Tribute is a veteran-inspired journey across the U.S. honoring the 7,054 fallen service members during combat operations since 9/11. One mile is traveled for each service member lost. leaves fallen from one of the greatest trees near my home. I've always loved this tree because its leave will start to colour from the top. leaving the tree with a gradiant from green leaves at the bottom to red at the top. [part of AUTUMN COLOURS projects in Canon EOS Projects]

At Fallen Rock Overlook we saw the enormous section of canyon wall which fell to the canyon floor.
From a nostalgic journey, October, 2006: My brother Paul, my sister Marian and I visited the house in NH where we had spent most of our childhood summers. Our parents had bought it in 1940, and it had been a part of our lives for so many years. Our experiences there, summer after summer, helped shape our perceptions of the world and our feelings about what is important in life.
The birches near one end of the driveway were among my favorite trees. I loved their white bark and the curls that came off of it.
Now this one is fallen down. The house belongs to another family. Everything is different. But still, one of my favorite pictures of myself was taken in front of this tree when it was standing and I was very young.

A zebra looking at a fallen brother that had been taken by a lion just minutes before this shot was made. After the observation was made the herd ran like hell.

The Maryland State Senate honored fallen Maryland service members during a ceremony held in the senate chambers at the state house in Annapolis, Md., March 5. Senator Douglas J.J. Peters, District 23 representative, recognized each fallen service member by name as honors were rendered by the Maryland National Guard Honor Guard.

Looking from the base of the Dyerville Giant toward its top. I think the log on which it fell is the tree whose falling toppled the Giant.
Lately, I have been trying out different exposures, and unique shots like this one, of a fallen tree on one of the nature trails near the house.
