Fallasburg, Michigan
From the Michigan Historic Site Sign:
Fallasburg was settled in 1837 by two brothers from Tompkins County, New York. In 1839, John Wesley Fallas purchased the northwest quarter of section 24 and laid plans for a village. His brother, Silas S., also purchased land at that time. Other family members soon followed, making the long journey in covered wagons. John W. built a sawmill on the east bank of the Flat River in 1839. In it he established a chair factory that was the forerunner of the Kent County furniture industry. He soon added a grist mill.
Fallasburg was a prosperous lumber town, posting over one hundred inhabitants by 1850. At one time, it offered a hotel and an inn that served as a regular stop on the stagecoach route between Grand Rapids and Ionia. The town also had two general stores, two show and harness shops, a post office, a distillery and several blacksmith shops. This structure, the Fallasburg School, was built in 1867. The focal point of the town, it was the site of town meetings, box socials, funerals and church services.
Angels Fall
Breaking Benjamin
I try to face the fight within
But it's over
I'm ready for the riot to begin
And surrender
I walked the path that led me to the end
Remember
I'm caught beneath with nothing left to give
Forever
When angels fall with broken wings
I can't give up, I can't give in
When all is lost and daylight ends
I'll carry you and we will live forever, forever
Grey skies will chase the light away
No longer
I fought the fight now only dark remains
Forever
Divided I will stand
And I will let this end
When angels fall with broken wings
I can't give up, I can't give in
When all is lost and daylight ends
I'll carry you and we will live forever, forever
The sun begins to rise
And wash away the sky
The turning of the tide
Don't leave it all behind
And I will never say goodbye
When angels fall with broken wings
I can't give up, I can't give in
When all is lost and daylight ends
I'll carry you and we will live forever, forever
Forever, forever
Headed off down to Wollongong Harbour this morning on my lonesome. A big swell was forecast, so I thought I'd go for some drama and mood.
There was not one other person at the breakwall, the whole time that I was shooting, and I really wanted to get a person in the image, just to give it that human element.
So, with no one around, it was left up to myself to do the ultimate selfie. With the camera on a 10 sec timer, I sprinted out in front, and did my best moody human pose.
Its gonna take me at least three days to get over that mad sprint...Knackered ol Mikey it did!!!
Anyhow, home now, and the masseur is on the way!!
Hope you like "Angels Fall"
Cheers, Mike
Back at Coopers Rock State Park. There is a little pond near the water treatment plant. Some of the trees were bare but still a little good color left.
Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

I got a little time off for bad behavior (caught another cold and am quarantined)! Now if only I felt well enough to be chatty with my Flickr friends...!
Here is one from a while back (end of Oct.) Sunrise over Lake Erie with the Cleveland Skyline in the distance. Huntington Beach - Bay Village, Ohio.
a wip at the moment, I have had this idea in my head for a while, but have been unable to get it out and into fabric, but here it is :)
I have written on blog about some of my inspiration, so have a look if you are interested :)
Peak color in the woods along the walking trail. This park is located near the shore of Lake Michigan and has great views.
Yesterday we (my aunt lunabelle54, who is new here on Flickr and I) went to the Landtong to catch up and make pictures. We had a lot of fun! Thanks tantetje:)

Today is the first full day of Fall. The storm is still raging, and splashes of red are all around.

Back in 2012 or 2013 I was attracted at the first sight of some images of an ice cave in Mendenhall Glacier of Alaska. The pure blue color, crystal formations was truly amazing. And from my perspective, what made the cave stood out from other caves is the vivid running water in the cave. Back then I didn't realized that ice cave could come and go due to constant melting of bottom or edge of the glacier. The Mendenhall cave collapsed and reformed. Finally I got to visit it in 2015. It was a truly unforgettable experience. But there was unperfect part, as the cave was collapsed and reformed before our visit, so its size was not as impressive as it was. And I didn't get enough of it and wanted to do another ice cave trip sometime. Luckily I coud do that 4 years later. In the trip to southeast Alaska again in 2019, thanks to my friend who is a great photographer and great guide, we got to helicopter into and camped in the mountains. In one of the area we found this incredible ice cave. It is not as blue as the previous one I visit, but it is still crystal, and there was a small stream falling into the cave! I have never seen an ice cave with waterfall and this is so unique. Unbelievable.
