Skyline Drive milepost 27.6, elevation 2,460 feet
North Section, Shenandoah National Park
Rappahannock County, Virginia
Although we were too late for peak fall color, we found some pockets of color among the many bare trees along Skyline Drive in the north section of Shenandoah National Park last week.

When Fall behaves it is glorious! When we have a 27 degree day with snow flurries like yesterday, that's just rude! We don't have a single month in the year that can't bring a surprise or two!
“Sometimes I wish for falling
Wish for the release
Wish for falling through the air
To give me some relief
Because falling’s not the problem
When I’m falling I’m in peace
It’s only when I hit the ground
It causes all the grief”

Wise men say only fools rush in
But I cant help falling in love with you
Shall I stay
Would it be a sin
If I cant help falling in love with you
Like a river flows surely to the sea
Darling so it goes
Some things are meant to be
Take my hand, take my whole life too
For I cant help falling in love with you....

I took this shot while visiting Shelburne Farms in Vermont as nature was transforming its cloth from summer to fall. View large on black

I sometimes have a hard time liking my own pictures, but this one I really like. And I hope you find it a favorite too :)
check it out :)
Meadow in morning mist is a sign that autumn will lose silver corals. It is worth a moment to stop and look...only look
My flowering crab doesn't get fruit, but it does get berries - and the leaves turn gorgeous colors in the fall.
A pastoral scene located near Blue Ridge in the mountains of North Georgia. The setting was totally covered with power lines and poles. Took me forever to get them all out. Gr-r-r-...

Still waters reflect brilliant fall colors. Small inaccessible pond tucked away on the mountain side of Kicking Horse ski resort in Golden. wet running shoes after this shot.
A view of the Cliffs, taken from "The Anvil" lookout, in the peak of fall colors.
This photo is from my archives. Before I started to post actively on flickr, I hosted photos on a friend's server. Those photos died with the server, and I never uploaded most of them here.
