I happened upon two faeries applying makeup to each other. Both were kind enough to pause for a photo opp. I have no idea why this pretty little faerie put on such a pouty face for the one photo, but she obliged by giving me a pretty smile when asked.

This is a art deco sculpture I picked up awhile ago because it reminded me of Brian Froud's" work with Fairies who you also may know from his work in the movie the labyrinth with the great David Bowie.
~ 1/2" diameter
inspiration from Deidre McCoskrie... I've got a lo-ong way to go to even begin to approach her level of talent and artistry!

Conceived outside of the course, whilst listening to Buddhist monks chanting, FAERIE PLACE seeks to embody an otherworldly Japanese landscape.

I made this quilt top in one day (07/23/10) from my fabric stash. I'll be backing it this week to ship north as a birthday gift. It measures 49" x 49".

Walking through some wooded trails revealed multiple swarms of gnats that look remarkably like tiny fairies! It took several dozen tries to land the focusing and timing right to soot this moving mass of dots.
Cochineal dyed silk velvet ribbon, beaded with glass beads 11/0 the painted and inked vintage seam binding.
