Walking through some wooded trails revealed multiple swarms of gnats that look remarkably like tiny fairies! It took several dozen tries to land the focusing and timing right to soot this moving mass of dots.
Cochineal dyed silk velvet ribbon, beaded with glass beads 11/0 the painted and inked vintage seam binding.
Closeup: I made this quilt top in one day (07/23/10) from my fabric stash. I'll be backing it this week to ship north as a birthday gift. It measures 49" x 49".

We went for a 1.5-hr walk around the neighbourhood yesterday morning and Makayla fell asleep in her stroller. That faerie dust making Makayla sleep is actually an overlayed layer of pink fiberglass insulation(among other Photoshop gimmickry), believe it or not...
And speaking of sleeping, Lukas slept from 9pm to 5:15am last night - a total of 9 hours between feedings. You rock my little man!

Daniel and I were wrapped to find images from the classic series Faerie Tale Theatre on the cupboards in the gift shop at Faiyland Village :D We own some of the series on old worn out video tapes :)
Faeries come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Here are some of the smallest faeries that were at the festival.

Jewel, in her off time, likes to pretend she can read books while wearing funny human over eyes.
Myself and these lovely two girls have been working hard for several years to get to the point we're at now with our costumes and characters. But the most rewarding part, and my personal favorite, is the sisterhood we have formed and now share.
We were honored to be special guests of the Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival this 2010 season. These pictures just showcase that the silliness never stops with us three.
