Just a simple roster shot of a brace of C40-8s tied down on the South Track and idling away in a snow squall sitting just west of the Groton-Harvard Road crossing at MP 35.5 on the Keolis/MBTA Fitchburg Route mainline.
These three units graphically illustrate the changing times in New England as all three are former Pan Am Railways units, part of a group of 30 ex CSXT C40-8s (24 standard cab and 6 wide cab)acquired by Pan Am in 2017 in a deal brokered by GE. With the sale of Pan Am to CSXT effective June 1, 2022 they all once again became the property of their former owner. Finally after a protracted delay Genesee and Wyoming's newly created Berkshire and Eastern Railroad began operating the former Pan Am Southern property as a neutral third party on behalf of 50/50 parents Norfolk Southern and CSXT.
Consequently 10 of the remaining C40 variants were transferred to the new startup including the three here. Most were quickly patched with mee BERX reporting marks and the Pan Am Railways or legacy CSXT logos were painted over. Interestingly while BERX 7518 lost her Pan Am lettering and logo on her hood she kept her Pan Am globe nose logo. Why? I have no idea but it sure does make for an interesting marker in time that will assuredly not last as the Pan Am image fades from the New England rail scene.

taken at Lethbridge Alberta on the edge of the coulee looking out to the westside. He looked deep in thought....to add to the "haze" was smoke from forest fires in BC. Not sure if there is some sort of esoteric thing going on with the wheels of time....the wheels of his cart and the wheel installation from the museum to the right but i liked it in the pic so didn't crop it out?

This photo was taken at the East Beach, Lossiemouth. The a rainbow which had been very bright was fading fast as the sun set - you can still just make it out.
Taken with an Olympus OM-D E-M10 and M.Zuiko 14-42IIR plus Lee Little Stopper and 0.6ND Grad.

The remains of the, paper like, old flower heads of Fringed Campion (Silene fimbriata) in the shadowy woodland surrounding the lake at Trentham Gardens in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.
Faded Paradise is an abandoned social and entertainment venue built in Stile Liberty architectural style, an Italian variation of Art Nouveau.

Faded Intercity liveried 37419 'Driver Tony Kay' awaits it's starring role, after a bit of a spruce up, in Yorks Holgate NR engineering works.
The Saint Valentine's Day bouquet is still hanging in there but is starting to fade a bit.

Veteran CN 2501 has some very faded paint as it sits near Turcot Ouest, third unit on CN X321. They have left their train from Southwark on the main line and are awaiting a supervisor to remove a flag before they can lift gons from the Freight Track.
Another time it might have been so different

Those are heels are great for pictures... but for the sake of walking they are useless.
I'm 5'11" with the heels... who can guess my real height? ;)
Also, I haven't been this excited for Christmas in years!! I've been belting out some Christmas tunes in the shower for several days now, and jumping to the window each morning with the hope of seeing a blanketed world. I've been dreaming of peppermint hot chocolate and basically any sweets made with, drizzled on, or dipped in chocolate.
No, I'm not a chocoholic!! (Denial.)

Two BNSF locomotives, BNSF ES44AC 6351 and BNSF Grinstein Green SD70MAC 9758, lead eastbound BNSF coal train C-CAMMAH underneath what remains of the fall leaves on the Parkville S-curve. BNSF 9758 was built in May 1996, about 8 months after the creation of Burlington Northern Santa Fe but still delivered to the BN wearing the slick Grinstein Green livery while also garnished with BNSF markings. At the time, both ATSF and BN were still seperate entities under the BNSF holding company, but 7 months later would see the combination of both railroads. Tucked away trackside in the woods is an old CB&Q code pole from the Steam Era peaking out of the trees almost completely forgotten and hidden from view. The glass insulators still pearched on the code pole glisten in the sunlight, a once-common sight that has since became obsolete in most areas around North America.
