Sonya took this view of a faded GB&W 319 at Merrillan as it awaited a new crew before back up and collecting train number 2 and heading east on July 21, 1992. Sonya Schwesinger photo.

TUMBLR.

I've been to hell and back

fade to black.

'Twould ease - a butterfly -

Elate - a Bee -

Thou'rt neither -

Neither - thy capacity -

But, Blossom, were I,

I would rather be

Thy moment

Than a Bee's eternity -

Content of fading

Is enough for me -

Fade I unto Divinity -

And Dying - Lifetime -

Ample as the eye -

Her least attention raise on me -

Another series of my continuing Tennessee adventures with Kathy & Phil, who graciously put up with me on what seems to be our weekly adventures! WAY behind on posting these! We never EVEN get off the same little road, I think!!

I was trying to get this to look like one of those old 19th century glass images that grandad had stored away up in the attic.

Last week I bought some sweet roses, but my creative styling eye is not very sharp. I used Coffeeshop's Faded Daydreams and Color Block actions, along with DPMom's Defog action.

Check out Maureen Nichols' collection of dreamy still life images. I LOVE these and am trying to achieve this style. www.flickr.com/photos/22377101@N04/

Veteran CN 2501 has some very faded paint as it sits near Turcot Ouest, third unit on CN X321. They have left their train from Southwark on the main line and are awaiting a supervisor to remove a flag before they can lift gons from the Freight Track.

It has been a wonderful sunrise. The best I have ever seen. In this shot colors are fading, but still beautiful and almost serene. As you can see on the pier at this moment I was not the only one watching the great colors combined with that beautiful lighthouse.

Pounding into town like a main line express, but in reality playing a diminished end of career role as hand me down commuter equipment, two streamlined E-units lead North Jersey Coast Line train 3320 into South Amboy on the morning of 24 August 1981, while a Jersey Arrow MU train holds in the background.

Leading E8 No, 4272 is former Illinois Central 4020, rebuilt by ICG in Paducah Shops in a swap with an ex Penn Central unit. Trailing is white E8 No. 4334, originally Southern 6913.

24 As the Scriptures say,

“People are like grass;

their beauty is like a flower in the field.

The grass withers and the flower fades.

25 But the word of the Lord remains forever.”

Another shot taken last Friday at the Forth Bridges while everything was fogged up. This time it's a detail of the columns that support the Forth Rail Bridge.

The autumn can be highly beautiful despite the coldness.

I love those days the sun shines brightly and the red leaves are simultaneously exposed.

Rush of serotonin.

- www.kevin-palmer.com - After an intense substorm with pillars reaching overhead, the aurora began to fade again. But still it continued to flicker and pulse rapidly like a campfire.

These were taken towards the end of October.

Backlit ferns have always fascinated me.

Taken in the area where I found them emerging this spring.

Sometimes I want to...just fade into the background.

The “line_up“ is a paperwork series I developed since 2010. The “liners” are made out of paper (Din A3/A4),

oil paint and graphite. The theme is the hermetical laws of polarity and movement. There is no ending and no beginning in any direction, just an endless movement. You have the possibility to arrange the papers like you want and that makes it an endless playground for my photo-work and the eyes of the viewers.

There is something very charming, even beautiful about Portuguese buildings in decay.

An old homestead sitting proudly on the hill. Someone moved to Canada, a new land of endless dreams and possibilities. Someone broke this land with a horse and plow, someone farmed this land to make a living. Some one dreamed this house and made it a reality, but now it is just ...a fading memory.
