As the light levels drop towards sunset fen takes on a purplish hue. Short Eared Owl on the look out for voles.

Summer colour is fading fast

our rainey kitty is fading fast.

tomorrow we'll visit the vet for his last trip.

 

we have had a wonderful 17 1/2 years with him. he made it to 20.

As the light was fading fast I came across this male goosander and two female companions on a nearby pond.

 

Having not seen a goosander for a year or two they now seem to be following me everywhere,
