A fantasy-like face-up for a good friend of mine. She made the mock-up for me. She has some very original ideas if it comes to face-up and doll characters ^^
I’ve been working on commissions but I’ve wiped one of them twice and another once. Everything I was doing was getting blotchy or weird and I finally took a break and decided to do some practice on Päivä’s head. It took a couple try’s to get something I felt was solid but my hand isn’t shaking anymore and I feel a heck of a lot more relaxed and confident again!
I guess it’s just been so long since I’ve done faceups that I was feeling a little nervous and it was definitely affecting my work. Glad that’s over!
She might be getting some sparse freckles and I’m going to put in eyelashes but I wanted to get back to commissions so this is it for now!

I recently have been able to do this commission face-up, and this mold is really enchanting. It is sweet, cute, but mysterious and almost elfish at the same time. ^^
Doing my Joshua's faceup last night because I am an impatient git who can't wait for daylight. I got an Artetje brush since it was cheap, they're pretty nice. So thin! Definitely helped with the different eyebrow style I was trying to do. I don't quite know how to stop it getting a bit blunt while painting though, towards the end it just wasn't making the same crazy superfine lines... Oh well.
The nailclippers weren't for anything, I use the pin to scratch away some paint lines though.
I just finished her faceup. And, just for fun, I posed her similarly to the promo photo that Fairyland put up, way back when they had first introduced the Chicline doll-line. It's the photo that made me want to get the Ruru event head/faceplat, together with the Chicline small-bust body.
I hadn't actually planned to get her in WS, but in NS. It just never worked out for me to find both faceplate and body at the same time in NS. Then, I found them both in WS, and decided to give the white resin a try.
I like how she turned out... I'm no expert at faceups, and still work with pastels and pencils, but this works for me.
Don't know her name yet... She's still an experimental dollie.
And, I just can't get over how delicate she is! :0

Last week I painted her faceup, OE and SP on the same time to get the colours right.
I'm very satisfied with this faceup, altough the eylashes could have been better, but meh.

Dreamy eyes Hujoo faceup, tried to open her eyes up more but my hands have been so shakey lately, didn't want to open too much and slip, ack!
I’m a bad, perverted girl, I know it, and I’m not ashamed of it.
Once I did a Thomas faceup commission for a customer, and I liked the result so much that I wanted a similar doll for myself. Of course, I did some alterations to faceup, like adding freckles, doing a deeper blush and changing a thing here and there…
He’s called “baby Hiddles”. Just because he’s so kawaii.
And that’s not a kilt. That’s a skirt. Just because I can. Sorry Hiddles))
The whole set took a lot of time to make, especially the curled wig. I’s my first curled wig, and it was very hard to glue the curls to the wig cap, because they sprang out and I had to press them until the glue dries out. More, I messed with the first version, making curls too thick and short, so I had to tear all the hairs out and to redo them completely.
I hoped to find a shoes of a certain design in BJD sites but despite of all the similar designs I couldn’t find anything, so I ended up making them.
