About 5 Sec Faces
This is a street photography project between Fleecircus and Danny St to capture the different personalities that make up face of Singapore. We roam around the streets of Singapore with an illustration board for a makeshift background, look for strangers with distinct faces, then ask "Can I take your picture? It'll just take 5 seconds..." If they agree, we quickly click away :)

LEAF OF FACES.
Sauntering the pavement, or riding the country by-road, here then are faces! Faces of friendship, precision, caution, suavity, ideality, The spiritual prescient face—the always welcome, common, benevolent face, The face of the singing of music—the grand faces of natural lawyers and judges, broad at the back top, The faces of hunters and fishers, bulged at the brows the shaved blanched faces of orthodox citizens, The pure, extravagant, yearning, questioning artist's face, The ugly face of some beautiful Soul, the handsome detested or despised face, The sacred faces of infants, the illuminated face of the mother of many children, The face of an amour, the face of veneration, The face as of a dream, the face of an immobile rock, The face withdrawn of its good and bad, a castrated face, A wild hawk, his wings clipped by the clipper, stallion that yielded at last to the thongs and knife of the gelder. Sauntering the pavement, or crossing the ceaseless ferry, here then are faces, I see them and complain not, and am content with all. Do you suppose I could be content with all; if I thought them their own finale?

Spike had given me the idea to bring a camera into work one day, although there aren't too many opportunities to take pictures of interesting things at my work... I took this chance when I saw a new batch of heads coming out of the molds...
And for those who are freaked out... just know that I work for a company that actually designs and manufactures Crash Test Dummies...

I first started photographing graffiti in 1999, and in 2000 I setup a website to share my photos. Initially a mix of different subjects, but it soon became almost entirely of graffiti. I uploaded over 6000 photos to this site. Eventually Flickr came along a few years later and I started using that instead, and stopped updating the website. I shut it down completely a few years ago.
I occasionally get requests from people for photos of pieces by specific graffiti writers, and I thought it might be a good idea to upload them all to Flickr.
Most of these photos were taken on film, scanned, and saved at a small size, back in the day when people were still using 56k modems to connect to the internet and small filesizes were desirable. So apologies for the quality and size for some of these. Someday I'd like to get them all scanned in again at a higher resolution.

Without the luxury of language, people and faces tell us so much about the culture we are in, a new way of life and perhaps most importantly allow us to learn so much about ourselves from what we see in others. For this reason I have put together a collection of faces from my trip cycling up the Mekong river in South East Asia. week 7/52
This week I've been really focused on my singing practise and I can definitely hear myself improving, which makes me so happy. I'm buying a ukulele on the weekend and I'm determined to teach myself, so that I can at least have some accompaniment whenever I sing to amuse myself/others. Anyways, my singing teacher told me to look in the mirror when I sing and watch what my mouth/face/tongue do. Anyone else ever noticed that, like crying, when people sing they get ugly? I prefer to shut my eyes.
Stripes the tabby cat will often look up at you with her face full of love. Very compassionate little soul.
Christmas present for my best friend. "Your face" is her all-purpose retort, e.g. "What smells so bad in here?" "Your face!" or "This pizza is moldy" "Your face is moldy!"
