“The sin of pride may be a small or a great thing in someone's life, and hurt vanity a passing pinprick, or a self-destroying or ever murderous obsession.”
-Iris Murdoch
Okay so with this picture I used somone who is always complaining about how she hates her face and how ugly it is. So I took her picture and took her face off shortly afterwards. Then when i showed her her picture, she complained to me of her hair. This was for a portrait photo challenge, in which i got the idea of taking a portait of someone withou their distinguishing facial features. So this could be anyone really, that was my point, its like a insert here type thing.
The sun shine through a window from the right and I'm using a white card board as an reflector placed just outside the left frame.

I was looking for patterns in nature today at Dunraven Bay, Southerndown, and saw this cliff. Do you see the face? - I thought it looked good. A play on the words Cliff Face.

I did one of these myself on the last ski trip. The snow was weird; heavier wet stuff on top of dry powder. It tended to collapse beneath your skis.
I was'nt much impressed from Supersampler shots around Flickr, however, I came across a yellow one on a flea market recently. The girl who sold it two me for 2 bucks told me it's a underwater camera... a real bargain. There was still a film roll in the camera which I didn't expect when I opened the back cover, resulting in some huge light leaks and funny effects.

This is a photo my 11 year old daughter and her friend came up with for the NHVP group monthly competition. They were playing around outside with a point and shoot camera so I called them inside and showed them the theme of the competition
"Anything goes .. but the shot must include a sheet of white A4 paper as a prop. Cut it, fold it, roll it, scrunch it, draw on it .. whatever, just include a single sheet of white A4 paper in a way that catches the attention of the judges."
10 minutes later this is what they produced. A good, creative effort I think - and posted at a size similar to what is coming out of cameras worth thousands of dollars more.
Had these made to add as free giveaways to add to online orders. They are 2.75" x 2.75" on vinyl.
These freebies will start to be used in early March! They still need to be printed.
About 5 Sec Faces
This is a street photography project between Fleecircus and Danny St to capture the different personalities that make up face of Singapore. We roam around the streets of Singapore with an illustration board for a makeshift background, look for strangers with distinct faces, then ask "Can I take your picture? It'll just take 5 seconds..." If they agree, we quickly click away :)
