This is a Yellow Monkey Flower (Mimulus guttatus DC) that I saw while hiking in the Mazatzal Wilderness. This was southwest of Mount Peeley and Sheep Mountain in the Mazatzal Mountains. Pronounced Mat-a-zal, this is an incredible wilderness between Phoenix and Payson. This is part of the Tonto National Forest.
