During the annual Philadelphia Flower Show, Unique Photo sponsored a workshop on photographing ballet in conjunction with Sigma Photo. The class was taught by Heather Larkin (heatherlarkinphoto.com/), SIGMA America Ambassador from Sigma Photo. The ballerina here is Maria Noorigan, who can be followed on Instagram @mariaatim.

Peintre figuratif principalement expressionniste, écrivain, illustrateur, artiste graphique, membre de la "Sécession berlinoise", Hans Baluschek a été classé "artiste marxiste" par les nazis et interdit d'activités. Ses oeuvres ont fait partie de "l'art dégénéré" à l'époque nazie. Hans Baluschek était un artiste socialement critique, imprégné par son père de culture ferroviaire, qui représentait fidèlement la vie des ouvriers berlinois. Mais ses tableaux sont aussi remplis d'allusions en relation avec les concepts ésotériques partagés au début du 20ème siècle qui cherchaient une réalité cachée derrière les apparences.

Bröhan, qui a fait don de sa collection privée à la ville de Berlin à l'occasion de son 60e anniversaire....Outre les peintures, notamment celles d'artistes de la Sécession berlinoise, Bröhan collectionnait la porcelaine des grands fabricants ainsi que l'art nouveau, l'art déco et le verre et le métal fonctionnalistes... I am not sure if the laneway is actually in Phibsborough or Cabra. Many ears ago it featured it was a good location for quality street art but those days are long gone and it is now it appears to attract professional fly tippers [illegal dumping for those of you not familiar with the term].
For the many years I have tried to find out if this laneway had a name and anyone that I asked told me that it was ‘Cabra Park Lane’ and while I was not fully convinced I have referred to it as such in my blogs.
Note: Cabra Park is in Phibsboro [Phibsborough] rather than Cabra.
Decided to begin a new self-portrait mini series! I love double exposure, so that's what I decided to work with throughout this series. This is all about the expressions, the colors, the textures, and the balance between different exposures.
Nemon is a very statuesque and eccentric person - very nice and lots of fun to be around. Many of the events where I took some of my best goth portraits took place at his house.
I felt it high time that I begin to post some pics from the series of gothic portraits I did in 2000. It began as an assignment for Photography II - the teacher wanted us to do a series of something. Then I recalled an event where there were swarms of fascinating people who referred to themselves as "gothic". I truly admired their individuality and thought that it would make for an interesting series, so I began going to gothic events and asking some of them if I could photograph them. Subsequently, I began to interview them to find out more about them. I found that for the most part, they were very sweet, friendly and artistic, and more than eager to pose for me. They turned out to be such wonderful models, and the photos were very striking! In fact of all the work I had presented to my teacher, he singled out this series and said "that is what you should be doing". He and my fellow students felt the photos were very powerful. He ended up giving me one of the three spots in his student photography show. Thirteen of my pieces were on display. I had many more, but they had to be edited down due to lack of space. I truly enjoyed going to these events, and found I had a bit of a wild streak in me. I loved the music and the setting...I miss it, and am planning on picking up this series once again. I felt it fitting that this series be called "The Individuals".

Dark wash Levi's 515 -- I can't recommend these jeans enough if your waist-hip ratio is high (whether that's lack of butt or thick waist or, if you're VERY lucky, like me, some of both!)
Shoes are Curfew, new-ish, but darn if I can remember where I got them. High-heeled brown leather Mary Janes (are they still Mary Janes if they have a heel?)
This is another top I like on me, especially since I discovered that if I layer it over a tank, my bra doesn't show through the armholes.

The expressions makes the dance so appealing.. Shweta Venkatesh, is an young talented dancer and one of the dancers who I like clicking and the way she expresses is amazing...
Would like to Thank Amith Nag (my inspiration into dance photography).. If he had not forced me to come to Naman 2012 - my first dance event shoot, am sure, I would not have done the amount of clicking I have done this year...

they didn't have a 6th 14" hoop at both michael's and the one joann's i went to and unfortunately i don't have time to scour southeast michigan for one hoop, so we're sticking with 5 hoops for now and then keep these studies going for a while.
