On a cold winter night (tonight)... I bundled up warm and headed out to catch some poetry and music at the November Expressions... Great way to spend an evening...
Ten expression shoes plus Crescendo shoe. Luckily there is an ALL SWELLS TO SWELL control, so you can work all at once. There are also thumb slides under the keys to work the expression. The toe levers above the shoes work reversibles. The pistons are color coded to go with the stoptabs they control.

Asian Pacific Festival of Arts & Music By the Sea unites the Asian Pacific communities, empowers them with a forum for expression, and promotes cultural diversity and awareness through arts and music. The theme “Reflection Through a Shining Community” captures the unity of our Asian Pacific communities and their successes.
The purpose of the Festival is to introduce and celebrate the rich Asian cultures, Asian arts, and Asian music artists to everyone, including the one-point-five and second generations Asian Americans, who might not have traveled to these Asian countries yet.
The opening ceremony on Saturday will kick off with Taiko drums, and the dragon boat demonstration. The Festival offers everyone a virtual trip to “HOME” in many Asian countries such as Vietnam, China, Thailand, Korea, India, Philippines, Japan, Cambodia and many more. Festival-goers will enjoy a variety of cultural exhibits, art walk, folk dances, fashion shows, music and entertainments, martial arts, food eating contests, cooking challenges, alcohol garden, and authentic food from different countries. Children will enjoy the day touring through the Kid’s Village where they will be issued a “Bon Voyage” Passport to tour different Asian countries. While there, the children have the opportunities to participate in fun and collaborative activities.
Highlights include APF Hip-Hop Dance Competition, Miss Scholarship Asian Pacific Pageant, and different exhibits inspired by various artists around the world.
The Festival’s closing ceremony will be on Sunday with an Ondo Dance and a Lantern Ceremony.

A couple of weekends ago now, I took a trip down to Devon to see my cousin, her partner and their fairly recent baby, Betty.
Betty is now about 21 months old or so, and is an absolute delight. She's so well behaved, funny in both behaviour and sense of humour (she has her own jokes already!), and just a joy to be around. I've never spent much time around babies and small children as an adult, so I suppose it was a new experience for me as well as her, and now I'm wondering if she's even influenced my opinions on having children!
My little second cousin is literally just the best thing ever. I can't wait to see her again.

The 2009 Gold Coast ITU Triathlon World Championships presents five days of triathlon competition, community activities, evening entertainment programs, corporate events and functions, along with one of the biggest Sport & Lifestyle Expos in the Southern Hemisphere. There are events for everyone, from triathlon newcomers, to the elite fitness fanatics and lifestyle enthusiasts.
The feature event of the festival is the Dextro Energy Triathlon – ITU World Championships Grand Final seeing the world’s best triathletes converge on the Gold Coast. This grand final event will also host the ITU Corporate Teams and Teams Relay Triathlon World Championships presented by The Courier-Mail
and provide something for the professional as well as the recreational triathlete.

Yesterday, we went to my grandmother's home at Jalan Pagarsih. Fazle is in the rigt side of this Picture, Dzikri, Fazle's uncle, in th left side of this picture and Khansa, Fazle's Aunt is in the among of them. Their Expression were so funny and cute! ^ ^

Bonnie Meekums, keen advocate of New Dance as a means of self expression, of Thornber Bank, Silsden. Bonnie had moved up from London eighteen months previously. he was married to Harry Fineberg, with two children. Bonnie is quoted in the article: "Movement of any kind makes us more relaxed and alive. But New Dance is a means of exploring ones own movement possibilities. It responds to the natural creativity of the body. It's there in all of us if only we pause to take notice". Photograph taken by a Keighley News photographer on 27th January 1982. The story was covered in the Outlook column, edited by Cathy Mason, of the Keighley News of Friday 5th February 1982.
In July 2021, Keighley and District Local History Society acquired an extensive collection of photograph negatives taken by the Keighley News. Groups of negatives were held in small wallets with the date and basic labelling written on the wallet. This image is developed from one of those negatives. The image was processed by Tim Neal in January 2022.

I caught an unusual expression on this wonderful alpha male mandrill at RMZ.
These guys are a favourite of Zoo visitors - partly because they are so gorgeously coloured, and partly because of the popularity of the Walt Disney "Lion King" films in which a wise old shaman/counsellor was portrayed as a mandrill.
What amazing colours! Of course, the equally colourful bottoms of the mandrills are a very big source of amusement to the many small children visiting the Zoo. No real surprise!
This handsome fellow is the big male, or alpha male of the Mandrills at Melbourne Zoo.
Mandrills are social creatures and live in large groups, primarily including females and young and led by a single dominant male. Most adult males are solitary.
Mandrills are considered very vulnerable. They are African primates. The Mandrill is found in the tropical rainforests of southern Nigeria, southern Cameroon, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea and Congo.
Recently Mandrills were considered to not be baboons, as originally thought. This was explained during a Keeper's Talk, which is a terrific feature of Melbourne Zoo. A great way to learn about the animals on display.
Mandrills are the largest species of monkey.
The word mandrill means "man-ape".
The Mandrill is recognized by its olive-colored fur and the colorful face and rump of males, a coloration that grows stronger with sexual maturity; females have duller colors. This coloration becomes more pronounced as the monkey becomes excited and is likely to be an example of sexual selection. The coloration on the rump is thought to enhance visibility in the thick vegetation of the rainforest and aids in group movement.
Males can weigh up to 60 lbs (30 kg), females about half as much (30lbs). They can grow to be about 1 m long (39 in) and can survive up to 31 years in captivity. Females reach sexual maturity at about 3.5 years.
The Mandrill is an omnivore and acquires its food by foraging (mainly plants, insects and smaller animals) from the ground as it is terrestrial. Its main natural predators are leopards.
Although the Mandrill does not normally hunt larger prey, males have been observed to hunt and consume duiker (a small antelope).

Expressions of Joy was made with a double stamping of a butterfly stamp on printed background paper. The butterfly was stained and painted with several different distress inks. JOY sentiment from HERO ARTS HOLIDAY SAYINGS CL343 (I love this stamp set!), Distress Inks Worn Lipstick, Weathered Wood, Stormy Sky and Antique Linen, three white pearls and a white ribbon were added. This guy made me smile, I'm not sure what he'd seen,but his expression is fantastic. After my experiences of travelling some of Florida over the last week, it could be due to him just finding out the price of gas ! :O
