I was shooting portraits and group shots at a 5th grade dance when this scene unfolded. I had the Fuji handy for candid shots. I don't think she was impressed by his moves.

I know this style of editing can be a tacky cheap trick, but I just wanted to play it on with this one. I think it came out nicely. Yes this photo could stand alone without this type of editing but why not try it this way. View it large.

they didn't have a 6th 14" hoop at both michael's and the one joann's i went to and unfortunately i don't have time to scour southeast michigan for one hoop, so we're sticking with 5 hoops for now and then keep these studies going for a while.
Stockholm held its pride parade yesterday. Having never been to Chicago's version, I couldn't compare the two, but this one featured 50,000+ participants and was absolutely crazy.
It was about 5 or 6 deep along the entire route, so I was having trouble getting good shots. A photographer walking the route noticed my troubles, and she pulled me into the street with her. And even though I was walking around with my dinky Powershot A540, flanked by DSLRs everywhere, security didn't say anything as long as I acted like I was supposed to be there. Ironically, I did get yelled at by security when I was on the sidewalk, leaning my camera out a little too far. Long story short, the opportunity allowed me to get some great close-up shots.
