In dance and creative movement, we use our bodies to express our emotions, communicate our needs and wishes, connect us with others, and develop and display our individual style of communication. The goal of our movement work is to increase student’s body awareness in order to promote positive self-esteem and body image. When the body is used to create and express honest emotion it contributes to an environment which ensures an inclusive, respectful space for all. For the young adult who may have special challenges with their bodies—because of physical or cognitive disabilities--it is so important that they have safe places to explore their body’s unique challenges and potential. A dance that can be inclusive of all movement, expression, abilities, and body types connects us all in the most basic human way—for we all want to dance!

The 2009 Gold Coast ITU Triathlon World Championships presents five days of triathlon competition, community activities, evening entertainment programs, corporate events and functions, along with one of the biggest Sport & Lifestyle Expos in the Southern Hemisphere. There are events for everyone, from triathlon newcomers, to the elite fitness fanatics and lifestyle enthusiasts.
The feature event of the festival is the Dextro Energy Triathlon – ITU World Championships Grand Final seeing the world’s best triathletes converge on the Gold Coast. This grand final event will also host the ITU Corporate Teams and Teams Relay Triathlon World Championships presented by The Courier-Mail
and provide something for the professional as well as the recreational triathlete.
With over 42 countries involved, 6200 worldwide competitors including 3000 ‘home grown’ hero’s and approximately 1500 corporate competitors, and over 60,000 spectators this event will be one of the BIGGEST triathlon and multi sport festivals in Australia. With competition, hospitality and retreat options available, the festival provides an ideal setting to network, entertain and relax while PARTICIPATING in a World Championship event!

She is Farah my friend, she got hurt in her forehead that time but I thought to take a photo because I saw her expression was telling something different like..pain n smiling..??

in spite of the cold weather,thank little ya ,she did her best to show her charming action and expression
Another image of my recent foxtrot performance with Angie, captured by Commissioner Myra Harris of the Maricopa County Superior Court, who was using my camera. I hesitated to post this image until I studied the video carefully and ascertained that the expression on Angie's face was intentional. Mine definitely was. I wanted to convey a sort of bemused resignation, and I believe Angie, for her part, wanted to project a sense of mischief and restrained mirth. I think she succeeded. Feedback, as always, is invited.
This was taken near the beginning of the brief performance, which lasted about a minute and 45 seconds. A second video may be seen here; there is a link to the other one in the description accompanying the first image of this dance, posted by me within a couple of hours after the performance. That one was taken just as we were finishing.
Expressions Explained:
A long time ago, roofs were made of thatch and straw instead of wood. Small animals such as cats and mice would crawl into these thatch roofs to keep warm when the weather was chilly. When it rained very hard, the straw eventually became slippery and the animals would slip right off the roof! Hence the expression, it's raining cats and dogs!
Wish I'd bought this one - £60 in 2003 stolen/recovered. Just needed new barrel, key & locks. Otherwise in excellent condition.
