Giant Rock is a large freestanding boulder in the Mojave Desert directly adjacent to Landers, California, that covers 5,800 square feet of ground and is seven stories high. Giant Rock is purported to be the largest freestanding boulder in the world.
Native Americans of the Joshua Tree, California, area consider it to be sacred. A single large room, which was subsequently filled in, was dug beneath the rock and resided in by a prospector named Frank Critzer during the 1930s and early 1940s. Critzer perished in a self-detonated dynamite explosion in this room on July 24, 1942, while being investigated by local police. In the 1950s it was a gathering point for UFO believers. It is located on land which was at that time leased by George Van Tassel, a friend of Critzer's, a purported flying-saucer contactee and organizer of UFO conventions. Van Tassel also built the nearby Integratron and a small airport in the vicinity, which he operated from 1947 to 1975. Shortly after the turn of the 21st century, Giant Rock fractured in two, revealing an interior of white granite.

Cordon tape has been drawn across the road to prevent cars from driving down towards the sight of the gas explosion in South Harrow.
Two cottages, each two stories tall on Stanley Road, opposite South Harrow station, have been totally destroyed and raised to the ground during a massive gas explosion tonight at around 21:40. I was sitting in my kitchen at the dining table updating a blog when I heard and felt a massive explosion. The shock was physically shook me and all the trees outside suddenly swayed. The sound of the explosion was extremely loud and left me feeling quite stunned. I immediately with out the patio door to look around but there was nothing immediately noticeable. Within about 2 minutes I stated to hear police sirens and then helicopters flying ahead. I decided to rush down the road (stupid idea, I know) and go and investigate. Apparently all the residents in the immediate area around the explosion have been evacuated. I counted at least 8 fire engines and 6 ambulances and far too many police cars to count. As I approached the disaster zone I could see police cars cordoning off roads and telling people on foot to stay back. Wow, and I just heard on the news that it's possible that no one has been killed, although one person is being treated for injuries! Amazing! Totally and utterly amazing!

¿Nunca les pareció oir una canción que los conmovía tanto que podían sentir muchas cosas indescriptibles, como colores fluyendo dentro de uno y alrededor? o identificarla con un color, una imagen...
o ¿nunca quisieron, al escuchar esa canción que les trastornó la cabeza de una vez y para siempre, transformarse en música? ser la música, ser todas y cada una de las notas y viajar por el aire, invisible, intangible, eterna...
Nada más alejado que esta imagen para intentar describir todo eso que dije. Pero mi delirante hermano mayor compróse una guitarra rosa, y yo tenía una remera floreada. Debía hacer algo :P
