During the early morning hours of February 13, 2008, a Taco del Mar franchise in Vancouver, British Columbia was destroyed by a large explosion which damaged several nearby businesses.

Manjeet Nanda, one of the co-owners of the bombed restaurant, was later found dead of an apparent suicide.

Vancouver-area police later arrested Kamal Jeet Singh Josan, suffering from burns to over 40% of his body. Vancouver police spokesperson Tim Fanning said police believed Josan was a friend of the Nandha family, which owned the restaurant.

Okay, so I am walking through Times Square back to my office with my lunch when a manhole cover approximately 5 feet behind me explodes. It was seriously loud and smoke and flames shot out! Yikes! I thought it might have been a small bomb on a subway platform below. I split. After work, when I walked by this Con-Ed truck was there. The worker told me that it was some wires (1-1/2" diameter or so) short circuiting. The manhole had been spot welded shut, but it blew it off anyways.

There was an explosion in Tungelsta this afternoon. At least three people have been taken to hospital according to the owner of the company that I talked to. One of them was flown to Uppsala with serious burns. Fourteen fire trucks were at the scene along with many police cars, ambulances and one ambulance helicopter. 100 homes will be evacuated.

Fireboats spray water as smoke pours from a fire on the Vermilion 380 production platform in the Gulf of Mexico September 2, 2010. The United States Coast Guard and the company that owns the platform, Houston-based Mariner Energy, said all 13 people aboard at the time of the morning explosion which started the fire had been rescued with no injuries. Had a great night at Brockham Bonfire where £50k worth of fireworks were let off in 12 mins. The biggest display and bonfire in the UK. Guy Fawkes was about 9' tall and the bonfire was as big as a house.
First attempt at night photography. I realise I need a lot more practice as most of my photos are pretty poor. I did however like some of the bokeh ones. It was very smoky and this is shown in the shots. Any advice you can give would be gratefully received!

Weymouth Carnival 2012. decided to have a my first go at capturing some fireworks. a few seconds worth of exposure i found quite hard to do just by hand maybe if i get a chance i will go back with the tripod to see what effects i can get on longer exposures.
