This is exactly the scene I first saw on Friday bike ride. The lights on the ship were so bright that I could see from a distance. This time I took my camera and tripod with me.
That was a well night spent in North Vancouver. By the time I finished all my photos, it was almost 11pm. That was a good wrap up for BAP Union photo shoot as it sailed to Hawaii the morning after :)
Location: North Vancouver, BC
This week's sunset was absolutely gorgeous. I had to take the opportunity to go out for at least a shot! Decided to wander around at Crescent Beach yesterday to get some fresh air. The tide was pretty high and there were people occupying those small patches of sandy beach getting ready for the sun to set. I found one that was partly occupied looking out towards Delta across Boundary Bay. I had to ignore the surrounding chit-chats and loud music, and setup my gear to shoot. I framed and pre-focussed everything first but had to cut a bit off of the pier as there were a lot of people on there fishing and catching crabs I believe. I waited until 8:15pm and the sun finally started to sink. Those waves of clouds were just magnificent.
0.4 sec at f/22, ISO 100, 24mm. Used a 3-stop reverse grad ND filter.
Is there any better way to spend a hot summer day than at the beach? Stanley Park's Third Beach is golden! The sun sets over southern Bowen Island, reflects off English Bay and back to me on the Seawall. Captured last Friday in Stanley Park Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada ~ September 1, 2017 🏄
“With inexpressible delight you wade out into the grassy sun-lake, feeling yourself contained in one of Nature's most sacred chambers, withdrawn from the sterner influences of the mountains, secure from all intrusion, secure from yourself, free in the universal beauty.
And notwithstanding the scene is so impressively spiritual, and you seem dissolved in it, yet everything about you is beating with warm, terrestrial, human love, delightfully substantial and familiar.”
— John Muir, The Glacier Meadows of the Sierra
The golden Tamarack, also known as the Larch tree. In autumn these beauty’s turn gold and in a short period of time drop their needles. Autumn hiking at its best 🍁

Today the family and I headed to Vernon where the temperatures were a balmy +15. This was a hot day for us Canadians in March, so don't laugh too hard! This photo is a blend of two separate exposures, one for the clouds and the other for the water. I have been working on this style and have a long way to go but am really enjoying the end result! Hope you enjoy too!
A short drive south of Revelstoke and you'll find yourself at Shelter Bay. An easily accessible location perfect for watching the sun set. One of my favourite locations in the area!

Coola & Grinder // #explorecanada #explorebc Two rescued #grizzlybears live on 5 acres atop #grousemountain. One walked right by me only 3 feet away, of course behind a fence, but I couldn't get my iPhone out fast enough. So this was the best I could do. instagram.com/p/aY5CkFTcST/
