Late night on the Sidney Pier, Sidney, BC
The colors are created by the moon light shining through the ice crystals or water droplets in the clouds - different from a "moonbow"
Frequently caught on camera with a long exposure.

Arc of the milkyway above the pier at Porteau Cove. I came here for night shooting quite often and have been taking astrophotography many times here at the pier. But it is the first time have the complete arc right above the pier. Although the galactic center of the milkyway is not visible during winter season from the northern hemisphere. I'm still pretty happy with the condition this evening. Especially there is a light green and purple glow of aurora.Although it wasn't very active, it is still a great bonus of the night!!
This panorama consists 5 single expose vertical shots combined.
Hope you enjoy it!
Thank for viewing!!

There are couple of spots I really like to go in Vancouver during the sunset time. Kitsilano Beach, English Bay, and Terra Nova Park are some of my favorite spots.
I always think that sunset photo is all about timing. Because the color of sunset can change quite randomly so it is wise to be at the location ahead of time to prepare yourself first so that you don't miss the moment :)

The Osprey 2000 prepares to dock at Kootenay Bay. Operated by the Ministry of Highways, this service connects drivers and passengers from the east side of Kootenay Lake (Kootenay Bay) to the west side (Balfour). It's a 35 minute ride and the best part is... It's free!
Sunset is always nice especially you are enjoying it with your precious one. I came to Kitsilano Beach hoping for a dramatic sunset just like last week. The sunset was nice but not as crazy as I saw before.
Just when I was about to leave, I saw this old couple sitting together enjoying the sunset. They reminded me how important it is to enjoy such beautiful view with someone you truly want....have a great week :)

Beautiful cherry blossoms in full bloom at Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
About this photo: I did some more cherry blossom chasing last week and my first stop was beautiful Queen Elizabeth Park which had many trees in full blossom. I was early enough that there were hardly any people around. By the time I left there were quite some people around. I just loved the bench under this beautiful big tree.
There were many other flowers blooming at the park as well and the smells were just amazing.
The Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival officially kicked off on March 29, 2024 and will run until April 25, 2024. There are many different varieties to be found in Vancouver and we usually get to enjoy cherry blossoms from the end of March until the end of April.

Some information of Vancouver:Vancouver is known as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Vancouver is Canada's third largest city and is located by the Pacific Ocean on a peninsula surrounded by water and in the distance there are the mountains. Vancouver is considered a pretty clean and safe city with a great variety of shops, museums, theatre, outdoor activities (hiking, walking, kayaking, sailing, skiing on the local mountains in the winter) and more. Walking around Stanley Park is a favourite thing to do for tourist and locals alike. This beautiful park extends from the city centre of Vancouver almost to the North Shore. With wonderful views of the mountains and the ocean around every corner, downtown Vancouver is one of the most picturesque cities in the world. Walk along Robson Street, the most popular shopping street. Experience Chinatown with the different kinds of building and stores, walk on the beaches of English Bay and the seawall of Stanley Park, enjoy a walk in Gastown with the old steam clock and the many gift shops.
Look out for some Hollywood film sets as Vancouver is used for many big Hollywood movies and shows. That's why you might hear that Vancouver is called "Hollywood North". Here are some examples of shows and movies that were/are filmed here: "Dead Pool", "Skyscraper", "The X-Files", "Dark Angel", "Stargate-SG1", "The 6th Day", "Kiss of the Dragon", "Small Ville" and many more. Then there is also the Canada Place, the stadiums, the Harbour Lookout, the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, Science World, the Vancouver Art Gallery and much more! All of these attractions are located within minutes from the city centre.
Vancouver is also popular in the winter for winter activities. There are 3 local mountains where you can do any type of winter sport. There is Grouse Mountain, most famous for it's stunning views over the city and fresh powder snow. Grouse Mountain is accessible by skyride...this is a big airtram that will take you up to the top of the mountain. Mount Seymour and Cypress Mountain are famous too and you also get wonderful views from the top of these mountains. As you can see...Vancouver has lots to offer. The Winter Olympics were held here in 2010 as well.

A slightly different view of these popular waterfalls, taken while laying on a shelf of the sandstone cliff. If you look closely on the lower and middle right you can see shell fossil remnants in the sandstone.

Reflections of a mixture of live larch and dead spruce at Cathedral Lake Provincial Park in British Columbia Canada. A deadly wildfire hazard!
Drive down a gravel road for about 90 minutes and turn up the switchback at the resort. Follow the road over a few cattle grates and stop when you come to a tree with a yellow ribbon...and this is what you get! AWESOME!!!
