This planetary explorer (factory name: “PEX-1ML”) was designed as a mobile base (serving also as a laboratory and an observatory). It has all the necessary equipment to explore terrain of new planets. Its drivetrain and suspension was built to handle very rough terrain, while its body was constructed from materials that can withstand almost any weather conditions.

Haven't taken any photos recently but thought I would upload this photoshopped version of an earlier shot. Given it a proper watercolour effect. Not pure photography I know, but think the processing suits the picture. Barden Lake, Tonbridge, Kent.

Wearing its distinctive colour scheme applied before the start of the 2017 season, Arriva Kent & Surrey 8001 V304 KGW is seen here about to turn off of Dock Road and into Chatham Bus Station whilst working the "Explore Medway" open top bus service. Friday 30th August 2019.

Stena Explorer is a high-speed ferry owned by Stena Line and operated on their Holyhead–Dún Laoghaire service between Great Britain and Ireland. It is a member of the HSS 1500 class of high-speed ferries introduced and developed by Stena Line from 1996 onwards. The HSS 1500 class vessels are the largest catamarans in the world.

Stena Explorer was constructed by Finnyards in Rauma, Finland, at a cost £65 million. Construction commenced in June 1994 and was completed in February 1996, before entering service in April 1996.

The vessel is a catamaran, and was designed with the aim of providing a comfortable and fast service. The sailing time between Holyhead and Dún Laoghaire is 119 minutes.

Power is provided by four GE Aviation gas turbines in a twin combined gas and gas (COGAG) configuration. The vessel employs four Kamewa waterjets for propulsion.

The HSS class of ferries were designed to allow quick turnarounds at port. A specially designed linkspan provides ropeless mooring and allows quick loading, unloading and servicing. Vehicles are loaded via two of the four stern doors and park in a "U" configuration. When disembarking, vehicles drive straight off via the other two doors.

Quizás algunos piensen que tendría que haber utilizado photoshop por algunas marcas. Pero no, no le he querido hacer ningún retoque, es bella así como es.

The Pyramidal Orchid is an orchid native to southwestern Eurasia, from western Europe through the Mediterranean region eastwards to Iran. This hardy perennial plant grows to a height of 30 cm. The flower varies from pink to purple, 10 to 12mm, with a three-lobed lip and a curved spur 12 to 14mm long. The scent is described as "foxy" or "clove-like". The arrangement of the flowers in a compact pyramidal shape is very distinctive and gives the orchid its common name. The leaves are narrow and unspotted. This orchid requires a sunny spot on diverse soils: loamy or clay, rarely on sandy soils. It can even grow on very alkaline soil.

Having seen these wonderful penguins on national and local news over the past couple of days I decided to repost these 2 photos. These Humboldt Penguins are in decline and at risk but there is no population recovery plan in place and perhaps there should be!!

The endangered Humboldt penguin (Spheniscus humboldti) is a medium-sized penguin. It resides in South America, along the Pacific coast of Peru and Chile. Its nearest relatives are the African penguin, the Magellanic penguin and the Galápagos penguin. The Humboldt penguin and the cold water current it swims in both are named after the explorer Alexander von Humboldt. The species is listed as vulnerable by the IUCN with no population recovery plan in place. The current wild population is composed of roughly 23,800 mature individuals and is declining. It is a migrant species.

Humboldt penguins nest on islands and rocky coasts, burrowing holes in guano and sometimes using scrapes or caves. In South America the Humboldt penguin is found only along the Pacific coast, and the range of the Humboldt penguin overlaps that of the Magellanic penguin on the central Chilean coast. It is vagrant in Ecuador and Colombia. The Humboldt penguin has been known to live in mixed species colonies with the Magellanic penguin in at least two different locations at the south of Chile.

The Humboldt penguin has become a focus of ecotourism over the last decades

Epsom Explore are a new coach tours and holidays company set up by both Coachpoint of Aldershot and Lewis Coaches of Thamesmead. Currently there are 2 coaches painted in an allover grey livery ahead of branding next year.

First to wear the scheme was Scania K360EB6 / Irizar PB C52FT FA12ENG. This has now been joined by Mercedes-Benz Tourismo C49FT BX14OMS, new to Marchant of Cheltenham in 2014, as seen at the Coachpoint Windlesham yard in December 2020.

Added the scarf from the Wayfarer outfit. I plan to include this color, as well as a series of other colors as well, plus an option without the scarf.

Thankyou all so much! Dave :)

No PS used here (I do not have it anyway!) I would have edited out the vapour trail and the trees if I did perhaps!

At the peak of tulip mania, in March 1637, some single tulip bulbs sold for more than 10 times the annual income of a skilled craftsman.

In an auction held in Holland in February 1637, 99 lots of tulip bulbs fetched a staggering 90,000 guilders, more than $3.5 million in today's money. Tulipomania had reached its height, and its story is told in just one of the fascinating sections of Anna Pavord's wonderful book on this most seductive of flowers.

I can highly recommend the facinating book "The Tulip by Anna Pavord"

you can imagine the strangle looks I got when I went bazonkers underneath some flowers!!!!
