On the way to my First Aid course last week, I was greeted to a beautiful winters morning...
A fresh cover of frost, fog, mist, a glorious sunrise and amazing light!
This is the reflections I got to take in of the Nepean river at Castlereagh...

Looking out the window and seeing the ground covered and the trees laden with snow was a surprise and all sorts of thoughts came rushing into my mind.

We drove the loop from Victoria to Lake Cowichan to Port Renfrew and back home the other day, just for some adventure. We saw some neat waterfalls, a really big sitka spruce, a fair bit of rain, but I got rather excited to see this fir tree growing on a stump in Fairy Lake. There's a number of fantastic photos of this tree online, but here is my take. The water levels are very high right now, so I liked the fact that you don't see much of the stump at this point. It really is fantastic how a tree can thrive on a stump! Another testiment to our creator!

Today a lot of these Painted Ladies visited the Erysimum Bowles's Mauve Perennial Wallflower in my garden.
Vanessa cardui is a well-known colorful butterfly, known as the painted lady, or in North America as the cosmopolitan. This butterfly has a strange pattern of flying in a sort of screw shape.
