I tided a small torch to a string from my garage ceiling. Then put the camera on the ground directly under the torch. The front of the torch is covered with blue electrical tape with a small hole in the front.
I started to swing the torch and pushed the shutter on a 20 second exposure.
Another busy day!!!
Our Science Surfers experiments are always astonishing
and kids were indeed surprised with density tower they made today.
They also enjoyed collaging the UAE national flag craft.
Basketball during their outdoor play was awesome.
Kids enjoyed circle time reviewing numbers and Phonics.
They acted as mail carriers delivering White Fields mails during pretend play.
They were very surprised to see how Pepsi drink exploded after adding baking soda during the science experiment.
It was a great day for us at White fields Nursery.
Photo and concept: me

I love this concept, the photo is simple but with high-impact.
I really love it, and I love my favourite model <3
Comments are welcome :-)
I cast this handle and then turned it. it was made using my shavings from several woods and polyester resin. wow was it hard!
(40/365) This was an experiment more than anything else. I'm trying to figure out how to incorporate photos on top of each other in a pleasing way while keeping the photo edges. I want it to be clear that the photos are stacked.
My two and a half year old daughter had been asking a lot about how things dry (her wet clothes/hair/spills, etc). She then started wondering what kind of things do dry. So we poured some liquids out and left them for a week. She's now asking daily for more "periments".
Professor Jeremy Bricker and his students Mohamed Alshamlan, and Taeksang Kim run the lab experiment that is sponsored by the Ohio Dept. of Transportation (ODoT). They are modeling flow of water through a road culvert, which is a pipe that carries a stream through a road embankment. Where the pipe exits the road embankment, the fast flow speed can scour away the earth, and then cut back and damage or destroy the road. To prevent this, Bricker’s team is developing guidance for ODoT to design carpets of armor stone. They run experiments to determine what size of armor stone itself is stable in the flow, and how long the carpet of stone needs to be in order to let the water from the culvert spread out and slow down enough to prevent scour of the sand downstream.
Jeremy Bricker is an Associate Professor in the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He and his students utilize hydraulic laboratory experiments, numerical simulations, and post-disaster field surveys to investigate the resilience of structures and infrastructure exposed to both increasing hazard due to climate change and increasing consequences due to expansion of development in coastal and flood-prone areas.

At lunch, we tried an experiment. Henry won't eat purees from a spoon, so I thought I'd try just giving him a tube of the stuff. He got a few good bites in, but mostly it was just messy. I think it'd be worth trying again with a tube meant for the purpose.
Experimenting with the different lenses/flashes/films... please excuse the unimaginative subjects - I was sat in a stationary car...

Felted freeform basket. Note Nori did not felt at the same rate or completeness and the Paytons. Interesting, unpredictable result, but with basket, it was fun!
Nikon D80 camera, equiped with the 18-135mm kit lens at 135mm. I put a Nikkor 50mm 1.8 lens as a magnifier in front of it, reversed. Focusing is almost impossible :)
Over the next 10 Days i will be uploading these dusty Apoc creations to help show case my custom capes and cloaks and get these out of my mind. Credit to Zeesi for the idea.
When their is a virus on the loose, bringing the dead back to life, scientists don't run, they prod it with a stick to see what happens. This is usually the end result, a horrible jumpsuit garbed monstrocity which kills anything in its way. This kind of thing is inevitable and while some have been intelligent, these feral monsters are quiet the opposite. These brutes should be avoided at all costs.
