Experimenting with cutting before our visit to Hartland in Devon.
The images were based on our visit to Northumberland - Low Newton by the Sea and evolved from some monoprints I developed based on watercolour sketches.

Ok, so this was the first time i've ever actually done this.. as you may be able to tell from the results.
I dunno how to improve it really, any tips would be nice.
An Experiment with HDR, original 3 photographs processed via dxo optics, then run through photomatix. Final ammendments made with niks software.
Tonight was a night for experimenting with sparkler writing. I then went to Flickr Toys and put them in a mosaic. In the middle you see the sparklers prior to being used. We wanted to get USA and did but obviously we need a whole lot more practice. We tried circles and stars and then just took some shots of the fireworks. Thanks to my daughter Laura for being such a good sport and helping me learn. I will return to this- it was fun!
To create the textures, I applied my knowledge from the research and from my creative ideas and fused them together to make the final outcome. As an artist, I often listen to my intuition and go along with my emotions, which is later mirrored in my final pieces. This trigerred my curiosity to record my emotions and materialize them, so that they could be touched.
The shadows are 30 minutes apart from approx 11:19 GMT (12:19 BST) to 16:19 GMT (17:19 BST) using an ancient 3.2 megapixel Sony Cybershot (as I was using my Canon for other things during the day).
As I anticipated, a single shadow is washed out by the white background in the overlapping of several images, which gave wishy-washy shadows and so I overlapped the darkest part of each seperate image by arithmetic addition to achieve above and then adjusted the contrast and brightness of the final image. In other words, I sodded about a lot.
Conclusion: Sort of worked, but end result isn't worth the effort in my opinion.
I got the idea of moving the camera up while taking the picture from hoodwinks: www.flickr.com/photos/hoodwinks1/2471140822/
Since I liked his, I thought I would give it a try.

I love playing with new equipment and experimenting. This image was created in camera using a special Speedlite modifier called a BLASTER. With a lens and Speedlite attached to the BLASTER you can project slide transparencies with your Speedlite. What you see here is a simple experiment with a portrait of a man (form the 70s?) projected over a portrait of my son. I was impressed at how well it worked so expect to see more experiments.
Image captured with a Canon 5D Mark III and Canon 24-70 mm 2.8 lens. The image was processed using Adobe Lightroom 5.
