After the failure of Experiment #1 - paint - we decide to try candle wax. Robyn located bulk wax at a hobby shop, and Bob, Gever, and Brenna melted it down on the campstove in a stainless pot.
The fun part was applying the liquid wax with brushes to the canvas. Probably won't be able to use those brushes for anything else ever again.
Today I spent most of my waking hours packing, cleaning and preparing for my impending house sale. By the time I had finished for the day I was feeling exhausted. Knowing that a change is as good as a rest I decided to experiment my attaching my Lensbaby Composer lens to my 5D with the addition of 3 extension tubes. I had no idea what to expect but am pleased with the experience and being able to share this with you.
Best wishes
Stephen
A mixed blend of Havarti, Edam & Aged Chedder with Tomato & Garlic Sauce, topped with Sundried Tomatos, (Ryan's) Olives & Tuna, and (mine) Pickles & Salmon. They were delicious! (And yes pickles on pizza is kinda wierd but we tried it in a prior experiment and they're pretty good!)
I tided a small torch to a string from my garage ceiling. Then put the camera on the ground directly under the torch. The front of the torch is covered with blue electrical tape with a small hole in the front.
I started to swing the torch and pushed the shutter on a 20 second exposure.
Another busy day!!!
Our Science Surfers experiments are always astonishing
and kids were indeed surprised with density tower they made today.
They also enjoyed collaging the UAE national flag craft.
Basketball during their outdoor play was awesome.
Kids enjoyed circle time reviewing numbers and Phonics.
They acted as mail carriers delivering White Fields mails during pretend play.
They were very surprised to see how Pepsi drink exploded after adding baking soda during the science experiment.
It was a great day for us at White fields Nursery.
A new experiment - sewing clothes from the little pictures on regular patterns. Figuring out the enlargement ratio is crazy because the dolls are so thin. I settled on enlarging for the around measurements, making muslins and then figuring out how much longer the clothes needed to be. Even then I ended up putting a new set of cuffs on the shirt to lengthen the sleeves and completely remaking that sweet little vest 'cause he looked as if he had outgrown it.

I love this concept, the photo is simple but with high-impact.
I really love it, and I love my favourite model <3

Overlooking the Nusle and Vysehrad quarters; an ideal setting to begin shooting if the masses of tourists eager to get their perfect shot of Prague Castle can be tolerated.

My two and a half year old daughter had been asking a lot about how things dry (her wet clothes/hair/spills, etc). She then started wondering what kind of things do dry. So we poured some liquids out and left them for a week. She's now asking daily for more "periments".
Expérimentation macro au 500 à miroir à main levée. Recherche de flou de couleurs et de composition.
Experimenting with the different lenses/flashes/films... please excuse the unimaginative subjects - I was sat in a stationary car...
