Trees etc. / Fullspectrum Experiment:
I know, I should not post so many pictures at one time, this reduces the chance anyone looks at anything but the first. But ... well, I can't help it.
I carried the fullspectrum camera with me today, and stacked 3 filters on top of the Minolta 50-135/3.5 lens: A UV-IR Cut, a warming filter and an UltraContrast 0.5. This way I got RAWs with almost no blue, a lot of warm tones and muted greens. I did some digital post processing, but the basic „color grading“ was done while I took the photos, thus analog.
Possibly this is dumb artsy talk, but I find many of these have a certain „presence" that is hard to explain. The lens was used wide open, mostly.
Along this track that I walk so often right now there's little more than trees and what you see here, so I need to make something out of that. I think this little series showed me again, there is potential and birch trees are always the photographers best friends.
playing with HDR: this is my first official experiment with photoshop's hdr tools.
"correctly" exposured image here: flickr.com/photos/kaysmoljak/458774029/ - I also did one stop under and one stop over to produce the above, but didn't upload them - you get the point.
I still need to work on the tweakin' - as Herr Kroll pointed out, this image looks like it needs more contrast - but the difference with the detail just blew me away.
[275/365] My first water drop attempt myself. Not too bad but I have seen a lot better. I shall continue to experiment. Much more to come in the next few weeks.

Taken with an old Instamatic Camera and 126 film. This square lo-fi style is not much replicated with mobile phone apps but the original is best.
The old film has shown surprisingly good colours.

A photoshop experiment where I was just open-ended with the direction and then it kind of took shape into this Instagram looking thing...oh well.
Experimenting with my camera and what sort of shots i can get. Really trying to get the perfect photo with my limited experience
2nd round / Fullspectrum Experiments:
More pictures! These are from the same last outing yesterday with the same camera, lens and filter setup. Here I applied „proper“ white balance (on the birches bark, simply) and look what I got. Again it's that almost velvia like green and high saturation over all. Actually this is what I found using UV-IR cut filters on this camera some time ago. I already experimentet with this - for some reason I need a diffusor, else I get some strange color artifacts on the edges. I don't know the physics really, but possibly it acts like an AA Filter? Anyway, this „film simulation“ is nice. When adding this Tiffen 812 like warming filter, blue gets subtle, too.
I'm experimenting with the online Stable Diffusion AI at stablediffusionweb.com which generates images based on text prompts. I saved the image generated and modified it with Vector Q, SketchClub, and iColorama on my iPad.
For this image I used the text prompt "Close-up of figures".

NASA's forward osmosis water filtration experiment flying aboard space shuttle Atlantis. It purifies contaminated water using a sugary electrolyte solution.
This is the famous pitch drop experiment at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. It's been "dripping" for about 100 years.
Experimenting with camera settings (exposure, this time...) and converting a few vinyl singles to digital while I was at.
Moody Experiment.
Some photos from a place you might already recognize, as there're many photos of it here. This time I tried to make something different out of the familiar views. After all, this is a landscape that probably is not scenic this time of the year. At least not for me, not in the usual sense. But of course there's a certain mood -- which might be something that comes out of myself, but I'm sure not without some stimulus, outside, it is really there, somehow. Can it be pictured? Can it be conveyed? How can you depict the actual first impression?
On a technical note: All done with old 50mm f/1.7 lens, all wide open, I used a Kenko nostaltone blue for diffusion and color shift. „Enhanced" in LR & PS.
