One more Fullspectrum Experiment:
I try to make the best of these days with the same subjects over and over again ... And I'm lucky I have a lot of things to do on my list: It's almost 2 years ago I got some rather strange IR-block filters.
Here I used the B+W #470. It's a blue-greenisch color, pretty dark. It's actually a technical filter, to be honest I didn't understand what exactly it was used for (maybe 40 years ago?), but I understand it blocks IR. On the Fullspectrum camera it's always easy to check this: If you see green more or less normally, IR is more or less blocked.
I needed to custom white balance there photos, again simply on the birches bark. A litte tweaking was necessary. What I get are very rich greens. Magenta comes bold, also, red is more subdued here, but it's not absent. I like the colors quite a bit, I tried to get away from a too extreme rendering, but still the cooler tones are somewhat dominant (or is it just me imagine that?)
I only used this one filter on a Minolta 70-210/4 (the manual focus variant of the famous beercan) and used it wide open (the filter needs a lot of light) and at it's minimum focus distance. Not too bad for an old zoom wide open!
I decided to experiment a few nights ago with some steel wool as i haven't taken photos in a while and this was the result.

Day one - the state it was in when I took possession (minus the mattress that 'saw a lot of lovin').
this is “my fron yard” about ten feet from Georgian Bay and is the former beach line - my dog likes to run around down here after his swims - a fmaily of mink live and play and around here and Canada geese come in to graze
I took this shot this morning while testing a pair of old lenses on my Pentax dslr K10D - finding out that my old trusty Vivitar Series 1 18-35 mm zoom lens works very poorly on the K10D, a shame since it performed well on my old film slr from Pentax, the PZ-1, One of the reasons for buying Pentax is the ability to use old lenses on the new DSLR. I will try out some other old Pentax lenses from my collection and see how they work out on the new camera.

A presenter at my camera club talked about in-camera techniques like intentional motion blur. I'm game, so I gave it a whirl. After 240 'test' shots, I can say I have 3–4 that I am happy to post.
I have seen very successful images posted. I appreciate any comments on technique from those who have tried this. (c) 2012
Experiment: cropping photos in a triangle, with a duotone which in my opinion matches the setting and composition of the photo.
For my next step in this experiment I'd like to make prints, cut out the triangle, and glue them to foamboard.
