Tonight was a night for experimenting with sparkler writing. I then went to Flickr Toys and put them in a mosaic. In the middle you see the sparklers prior to being used. We wanted to get USA and did but obviously we need a whole lot more practice. We tried circles and stars and then just took some shots of the fireworks. Thanks to my daughter Laura for being such a good sport and helping me learn. I will return to this- it was fun!
Trees etc. / Fullspectrum Experiment:
I know, I should not post so many pictures at one time, this reduces the chance anyone looks at anything but the first. But ... well, I can't help it.
I carried the fullspectrum camera with me today, and stacked 3 filters on top of the Minolta 50-135/3.5 lens: A UV-IR Cut, a warming filter and an UltraContrast 0.5. This way I got RAWs with almost no blue, a lot of warm tones and muted greens. I did some digital post processing, but the basic „color grading“ was done while I took the photos, thus analog.
Possibly this is dumb artsy talk, but I find many of these have a certain „presence" that is hard to explain. The lens was used wide open, mostly.
Along this track that I walk so often right now there's little more than trees and what you see here, so I need to make something out of that. I think this little series showed me again, there is potential and birch trees are always the photographers best friends.
I approached this painting three dimensionally. I painted the background very loosely first on the bottom layer, then I added the blue flowers and some green leaves on the middle layer, and finally I added the foreground light green and yellow leaves, some purple and dark blue details to the flowers, and the red flowers onto the top layer. It is similar to the method I use painting on the iPad. It allows you to erase back to reveal what is behind and to mix layers by varying the transparency. I like working in layers. It makes it much easier to make changes. There is more opportunity to experiment. It is infinitely re-workable. The acrylic paint lifts completely off the film using a bit of alcohol on a Q-Tip or brush and wiping with a paper towel.
This is part of a roll of film I had forgotten in my Nikon Nuvis camera years ago. I finished shooting it and was surprised at what was in it.
I like the lighting in this photo because that's just how it came out. No flash but the roll was 400 (whatever that's called).

Expérimentation macro au 500 à miroir à main levée. Recherche de flou de couleurs et de composition.
A little experiment in Photoshop.
A comment about the (poor I believe) realization would be greatly appreciated :)
We didn't use this setup because it seemed like using a massive glob of clay on the outside of the spoon would give it an unfair disadvantage.
Latex experiments that represent skin and peoples appearance. Using stitching to represent how some people might want to change their appearance and want to be fixed.
For this experiment I had the idea of taking leaves from a near by plant and positioning them on this tree trunk following the natural curves of the tree.
this is an experiment with a photocopier for enlarging negatives, this is about the size of an a4 sheet, first is 4 x of 35mm neg, next is a4x enlargment of initial enlargment
then i scanned this into pc ctrl i, then black and whited it, was very very flat and light so made in darker and increased contrast which bought out the photo copy texture needs alot of work still but it was quickly done just to get it up
also the negs are a sneak peck...
