An ex BN Executive SD70Mac leads an eastbound coal train through an area on the old B&O Chicago Line known as the Blue Grass Cut.
Not only is this a great vantage point to take train pictures in northern Indiana, it is also an excellent place just to sit back and watch the abundance of trains go by.

I am consistently amazed at how well the "Grinstein Green" has held up over the years, now going on 20 years old. Granted 9804 was among the final batch of 70mac's to recieve the treatment as a 1997 graduate of LaGrange, but even the first run of mac's from '93 have held up fairly well save for two decades of road grime. Not too bad for an ugly pain scheme...

This picture was taken out of a car window at around 50mph, for mile on mile the Nebraska Route 2 parallels the BNSF Sandhills sub as it heads west towards Alliance NE.
So it's simple really. Just get yourself a car, a driver, a train and a camera. Then, snap away, upload and hey presto, perfect panning every time.
Wearing the BNSF Executive livery is SD70MAC #9703, first of two rear end units on an empty coal run heading for the Powder River Basin.

in Glyfada yesterday while still having dinos on my mind I came across this amazing kiosk display. I was especially pleased that the new "clean cut, crisp lines, designer" kiosks that have put up lately are no match for a traditional kiosk owner's idea of what a kiosk should look like.
