Cross Country's celebrity HST power car No. 43184, which has been repainted into its 1980s InterCity Executive livery, passing through Dawlish on an Edinburgh - Plymouth service.
The WU Executive Academy is located in the EA building at the west entrance of Campus WU, right next to the entrance of the Messe Wien exhibition grounds and the U2 subway station Messe-Prater. The building was designed by Spanish architects NO.MAD Arquitectos, Madrid.
The EA building is a compact sevenstory tower based on a mono-material design principle. The outer façade is made of glass and aluminum. Different degrees of transparency, from opaque to completely translucent, reflect the sky and the surrounding greenery, integrating the building perfectly into its environment. The upper levels offer spectacular views of Vienna's city center and the nearby Prater Park. The pattern of the windows appears random, but actually follows a specific algorithm.
The building is divided into three functional areas: Four levels house openplan offices, and the upper levels serve as teaching and self-study areas for WU Executive Academy students. The ground floor includes a multi-purpose event venue that can be partitioned with flexible dividers and adapted to suit all kinds of events. The EA building also features a café with spacious outdoor seating on the ground floor and
a restaurant and bar on the roof level. Both the café and the restaurant are open to the public.
The overall mono-material concept based on aluminum and glass is carried over into the interior of the EA building. Floors, wall paneling, and lighting elements throughout the building reflect this uniform design. Contrasting accents provided by additional materials, colors, and design elements highlight only a few selected areas.
The core of the building houses the elevators and utility installations and forms a constant central element with a reflecting surface around which all other rooms are grouped. Untreated, seamless surfaces such as polished concrete floors and raw cement walls characterize the interior, while carpets and curtains provide warm accents in the office, teaching, lounge, and waiting areas. Das Gebäude ist als siebengeschoßiger kompakter Turm ausgebildet und folgt dem Gestaltungsprinzip der Monomaterialität. Die Außenfassade ist aus Glas und Aluminium errichtet und ist in Abstufungen von opak bis transparent lichtdurchlässig. Himmel und Natur spiegeln sich darin und integrieren das Gebäude perfekt in die Umwelt. Von den oberen Geschoßen bietet sich ein spektakulärer Ausblick auf die Wiener Innenstadt und den nahe gelegenen Prater. Die Anordnung der Fenster scheint willkürlich, folgt jedoch einem bestimmten Algorithmus.
Funktional ist das Gebäude in drei Bereiche gegliedert: Vier Geschoße werden als Bürofläche mit Arbeitsplätzen im Open Space genutzt. Die obersten Geschoße stehen den Studierenden der WU Executive Academy als Lehr- und Selbststudienbereich zur Verfügung.
Im Erdgeschoß befindet sich eine multifunktionale Veranstaltungsfläche, die durch flexible Abtrennungs-systeme für Events unterschiedlichster Art genutzt werden kann. Das Gebäude beherbergt weiters zwei Gastronomiebetriebe, ein Café mit großzügiger Terrasse im Erdgeschoß und ein Restaurant mit Bar im Dachgeschoß. Beide Betriebe sind öffentlich zugänglich.
Im Innenausbau kommt ebenfalls ein Minimum an Materialen zum Einsatz, das Konzept der Mono- materialität Alu/Glas wird fortgesetzt: Fußboden, Wandbekleidungen und Beleuchtungskörper ziehen sich einheitlich durch das Gebäude und werden nur in wenigen Zonen durch zusätzliche Materialen, Farben und Elemente kontrastiert.
Der Gebäudekern mit den Aufzügen und Gebäudeinfrastruktur dient als verspiegelte Konstante, um die sich die anderen Räume anordnen. Rohe, fugenlos verlegte Materialen wie polierter Estrich und Sichtbeton dominieren, warme Akzente werden durch Teppiche und Vorhänge in den Büros, Unterrichts-, Lounge- und Wartebereichen gesetzt. Schwere Vorhänge werden als Schallschutz genutzt.

It has been nearly 2 years since my girlfriend got me into the executive trainee program at her firm. She also insisted that I start taking some special vitamins to help me have the right focus at work. I am still there, only now I am her executive secretary.
I chose this title because two minutes ago, when Chris saw this picture I was working on, he said Ouzo looks like a corporate executive posing for his official portrait, head and body slightly tilted and just a bit bent forward.
I think this pretty much sums it up :)

Once junction for the Severn Valley line to Bridgnorth and Shrewsbury,Hartlebury has retained a certain 'opulence' in its facilities.
This is the 'executive lounge' !! In fact, the main building is now the 'Hartlebury Station Tap' providing decent beer and meals. Not open at this time however,I had to contend with viewing the passage of a 172 to Dorridge!!

A BNSF “Executive” SD70MAC holds at O’Hare Transfer station along CN’s Waukesha Sub. For some of the visitors to the Windy City, this may have been the first train they saw around here. And what a great first train to see!
Looks solid although tax is due shortly but hopefully it won't fall off the system. Always thought the rear styling on these was rather odd.
Been after this one for ages! A tactically timed lunch break nets me CrossCountry HST power car no. 43184 (43384) and 43366, running back-to-back on a Neville Hill to Derby via Woodhouse (into Sheffield) and the Erewash Valley route learning trip. Both EMR and CrossCountry had been undertaking diversionary route refreshers preparation for an upcoming closure of the Midland Mainline north of Derby, with these two doing the honours for CrossCountry for the past two weeks based out of Neville Hill.

The previous day, I would get word from a few friends about an Office Car Special (OCS) going down to San Luis Obispo or SLO. The next day, I'd go out to Crockett to get it. I'd get there just in time as I'd get there 2 minutes before it'd pass by.
Is where I am at the moment. Fun fun fun.
Someone also sent me a misaddressed thank you email for a job interview. * WARNING * High levels of corporate bullshit follow. "I'm certainly not used to generating myself in such a bold way at a professional level and if you find any area you can't be with i.e. it would impact you in standing for an application I might make, please let me know."

I had not known about this train until the day before when I had already planned on venturing over to Granite City to catch some trains, so this was nice addition, catching the full consisted train
Can you guess where I was this summer? This is the first time I have even touched the photos from our trip. I'm scared to even get close to them. I have hundreds of photos, but I wanted to find a fence shot. I miss Fence Fridays so much. So, I dug in there and found this.

The Mark IV was the result of a complete redesign of the Zephyr, Zodiac range under the title Project Panda with both 4 and six cylinder having Vee engines, independent rear suspension and all round disc brakes with a servo option on the fours, standard on the six. four speed column shift is standard but floor change, overdrive and automatic are all options, and for the first time power steering.
The size of the bonnet was emphasized by square cut styling of the wings. A practical use was found for some of the extra space in front of the driver: the spare wheel was stored, ahead of the engine, under the bonnet, freeing up space at the other end of the car for more luggage.
The Zephyr 4 and six have a different grille, the 4 being plain with a single central horizontal chrome strip, while the 6 has a full width chrome grille
The Zodiac and Zodiac Executive models were upmarket versions of the Zephyr 6, but differed considerably from that model by the limousine-type rear doors, sharper roofline (with narrower C-pillar) and tail, unique grille (four headlights instead of two), exclusive bumper bars, plusher seating, and up-market upholstery, dashboard and interior fittings. A choice of individual or bench front seat was available trimmed in leather or cloth. The front doors and bonnet panels were shared with the Zephyr 6. .
The Executive version had extra luxury fittings again. The 2553 cc single-carburettor six-cylinder engine was improved internally to increase the power output to 109 bhp and a new four-speed all synchromesh transmission with column change was fitted. The brakes, servo assisted, use discs at the front and drum at the rear.
