Looking at the last photos I posted I noticed that they were all alike: mountain landscapes, green as a color predominantly... so I thought about changing a bit and posting something different.

Cook's first kettle was a big cast iron affair that sat on the wood burning range. That was nothing! At the opposite end of the range was a monster of a cast iron fountain; big brass spout hanging out over the floor. Don't know what that is? Look it up. There was no plumbed in hot water in those days!

Then came gas, and indoor plumbing. The cast iron kettle was relegated — too slow. Then the fountain went to a museum!

Now the mantra is "electrify everything". Cook's new range is sleek, powered by induction, no stoking required and no indoor emissions. How long will the turquoise kettle last? I'd say its days are numbered too!

That original kitchen had character; atmosphere — soot, grease — that kind of thing. This is all stainless and sterile. If there's a down side, I couldn't revive an abandoned newborn lamb in front of this range. Those were the days!

Caught this cool pic awhile back and then found this perfect song to go with it...

Everyday is a new day

I'm thankful for every breath I take

I won't take it for granted ( I won't take it for granted)

So I learn from my mistakes

It's beyond my control sometimes it's best to let go,

whatever happens in this lifetime

So I trust in love ( So I trust in love )

You have given me peace of mind

I, I feel so alive

For the very first time

I can't deny you

I feel so alive

I, I feel so alive ( so alive)

For the very first time (For the very first time)

And I think I can fly

Sunshine upon my face (Sunshine upon my face)

A new song for me to sing

Tell the world how I feel inside

Even though it might cost me everything

Now that I know this is beyond my control

'cause I could never turn my back away

Now that I see you (Now that I see you)

I can never look away

I, I feel so alive

For the very first time

I can't deny you

I feel so alive

I, I feel so alive ( so alive)

For the very first time (For the very first time)

And I think I can fly

Now that I know you

I could never turn my back away

And now that I see you

I could never look away

And now that I know you

I could never turn my back away

And now that I see you

I believe no matter what they say

I, I feel so alive

For the very first time

I can't deny you

I feel so alive

I, I feel so alive(so alive)

For the very first time(For the very first time)

And I think I can fly

I, I feel so alive (so alive)

For the very first time(For the very first time)

And I think I can fly

I, I feel so alive ( so alive)

For the very first time(For the very first time)

And I think I can fly

And I think I can fly

And I think I can fly

It struck me when I post this, that everything about this bird is long - beak, neck, wings, legs, toes

This photo features shutter drag, using flash to freeze the subject in motion, also allowing you to photograph at low speed. Fana Lv is the model.

on that road at that point had to find an important load but strangely there was nothing.

The Racetrack is a playa--a dry lakebed--best known for its strange moving rocks. Located in a remote area of California's Death Valley National Park, the heavy stones appear to move across the dried lake bed known as Racetrack Playa, leaving a trail behind them in the cracked mud.

In years past, the apparent movement was blamed on everything from space aliens and magnetic fields to pranksters. But until recently no one had actually seen the rocks move, which only added to the mystery.

As noted on the National Park Service website, the mystery was finally solved in 2014 when in a paper published in the August 27, PLOS ONE, a team led by Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego, paleobiologist Richard Norris reported on first-hand observations of the phenomenon. Because the stones can sit for a decade or more without moving, the researchers did not originally expect to see motion in person. Instead, they decided to monitor the rocks remotely by installing a high-resolution weather station capable of measuring gusts to 1 second intervals and fitting 15 rocks with custom-built, motion-activated GPS units. The experiment was set up in Winter 2011 with permission of the National Park Service. Then –in what Ralph Lorenz of the Applied Physics Laboratory at the Johns Hopkins University, one of the paper's authors, suspected would be "the most boring experiment ever" –they waited for something to happen.

But in December 2013, Norris and co-author James Norris (of Interwoof and Richard's cousin) arrived in Death Valley to discover that the playa was covered with a shallow pond no more than seven centimeters (three inches) deep. Shortly after, the rocks began moving.

Their observations show that moving the rocks requires a rare combination of events. First, the playa fills with water, which must be deep enough to allow formation of floating ice during cold winter nights but shallow enough to expose the rocks. As nighttime temperatures plummet, the pond freezes to form sheets of "windowpane" ice, which must be thin enough to move freely but thick enough to maintain strength. On sunny days, the ice begins to melt and break up into large floating panels, which light winds drive across the playa pool. The ice sheets shove rocks in front of them and the moving stones leave trails in the soft mud bed below the pool surface.

I don't know...I am still going with the space alien theory!

“Do not let a man convince you that you are nothing without him, when you have the blood of the lionesses running through your veins, a heart that pumps enough iron to create swords, and a spine that is stronger than granite. You are everything. With him, without him, never having met him, or with someone else, never forget that you are everything.”

The story ends early, when a renovation job gets gutted, unfinished, and the old past moves out with none to replace it. These empty rooms set sleeping for strangers, and stories said with no remaining. No retaining of the bits you broke off and left, staring windows watching. Every now and then, I remember to exist, to notice myself and wonder what the reflection gets up to. When it comes to creating, I firmly believe there's no right way, and only one to get it wrong – leave yourself out of the picture. It's some kind of sickness I feel, every time I encounter an artist who implies no personal life. No self-portrait, no secret emotion, no insight to the heart. We're not wandering eyes alone; seeing is only part of sight. This is a call from the incredible darkness of being yourself, illuminated. That's what I live for.

Watch the early morning sun

Drip like blood from the day

See the crazy people run

So many games to play

See the blue suburban dream

Under the jet plane sky

Sleep away and dream a dream

Life is just a lullaby

The neon lights in the night tonight will say

Everything will flow

The stars that shine in the open sky will say

Everything will flow

The lovers kissed with an openness will say

Everything will flow

The cars parked in the hypermarket know

Everything will flow

I've seen a couple of crystal ball images on various websites recently and decided I needed to give it a try, this one is a double exposure so that everything is in focus.

A creative take on a summer sunset at the beach. Captured through a pair of sunglasses resting on the pebbles, the scene transforms into a layered composition of warm reflections, clouds, and glowing skies. A reminder that perspective changes everything.

I'm driving your car with you

Sleeping in the seat next to me like a baby

You twist and you turn

You're traveling fast like a bird in a dream

Look at it go

Look at it dance over the sky like a rocket

A love machine, a cinematic dream

So pure and it hurts

When the beauty is lost in the speed

'Cause everything matters to me

(To me, to me, to me, to me)

To me

You're part of the dawn where the light comes from the dark

You're a part of the morning and everything matters

And we are, an atom and a star

You're a part of the movement and everything matters

(To me, to me, to me, to me)

I'm watching a storm turn into form

In the clouds of the world like a burst

It dances and it twirls on the top of the world

It is good and it hurts

Look at it go

Look at it dance over the sky like a rocket

A teacher, a simulated dream

A cure, a cure for the hurt

And the pleasure you feel is real

You're part of the dawn where the light comes from the dark

You're a part of the morning and everything matters

And we are, an atom and a star

You're a part of the movement and everything matters

(To me, to me, to me, to me)

(To me, to me, to me, to me)

Quelque part avant l'aube

Quand la lumière veut nous voir

Quelque part dans le monde

Un oiseau s'endort sans bruit

Toi et moi

Dans la nuit on trouvera

Quelque part où déposer

Les fleurs qu'on a cueillies

Part avant l'aube

Quand la lumière veut nous voir

Quelque part dans le monde

Un oiseau s'endort sans bruit

Toi et moi

Dans la nuit on trouvera

Quelque part où déposer

Les fleurs qu'on a cueillies

Part avant l'aube

Quand la lumière veut nous voir

Quelque part dans le monde

Un oiseau s'endort sans bruit

Toi et moi

Quelque part où déposer

Things fall to pieces in my face

Broken hands on broken ploughs

Broken treaties broken vows

Broken pipes broken tools

People bending broken rules

Hound dog howling bullfrog croaking

Everything is broken.

I have everything I need. If you’re reading this, odds are you’re probably just as fortunate as I am.

Two years ago I had the great privilege of volunteering at Khmer New Generation Organization (KNGO), a school in Bospo Village, Cambodia. I was greeted with the warmest smiles from the most adorable and curious kids I’ve ever encountered. They had very little, but were happy and eager to learn. Since coming back, I’ve wanted to help – but in a way that was truly tangible and measurable. As luck would have it, I was able to reach out to the local Rotary Wheels for Learning program. I’ve been able to connect them with KNGO and now am working on fundraising to deliver bicycles to the very same smiling faces that I met two years ago.

The concept is simple: you donate $50 (tax deductible) and a child in Cambodia gets a bicycle. Since the demand in the village is so high, the bikes will be given to the most needy kids who live furthest from the school. Many kids have monumental treks to school and it poses a real barrier to education. With a bike, you are literally giving these students access to opportunity and the chance to claw their way out of poverty.

My personal goal is to help fund 50 bikes through my efforts and the generous donations of friends and family (like you!). I’ve personally donated four bikes thus far and will add at least four more before the end of the year. If you’re interested in donating, please visit: Rotary Wheels for Learning for more information or to donate simply using your credit card/Paypal. If you decide to donate, please make a note to the receiver “KNGO” so we know where the bikes are to be allocated. If you’re unable to give, that’s ok too. You can help either way by sharing this post!

A Series Of Eight Works, eight personal visions about our World today ...

The sixth work of this series about our times ...

They came from the East from the Steppes of Altai, attracting others along the way, imposing the terror and fear in the silence of the nights ... burning everything in their path ... others joined, hungry for power ... reigning ancient kingdoms and empires of the past ... even beyond the Atlantic as if a plague it were, devouring the Light and the Hope of Men who stopped believing in love and freedom.

In the beginning the Wolves promise changes and so they did ... they changed our world and ourselves ... to Wolves like them !
