It dawned on me when I couldn't upload last nights photos, that my hard disk was full again. I realised everything from last year must go to my external hard disk, so Everything must go , by the manic Street Preachers is perfect. I thought I'd see what those months held, and this beautiful sunset was hiding there. Some nights you just wish would never go, but they always do.
Something has been nibbling on this one, it wasn't me... Could be the squirrels, they eat a bit of everything... Would love to know....

Everything was quiet! But the quiet was quite audible. The scores of invisible wind were striking like a chorus with fir needles leading to a wonderful melody that indeed banished my weariness and sense of time. Continuing with this pleasant singularity I couldn’t able to feel that it was too late that night!

Now long abandoned, the Hawkscraig pier was erected in 1866 for paddle-steamers carrying day-trippers across the Forth from Edinburgh.
When the railway came to Aberdour in the 1890s via the Forth Rail Bridge, the demand for the service declined and the demise of the pier shortly followed.
The Forth Rail Bridge is just visible in the top right of the photo.

Everything in this modest image leads to the Gassendi crater. Seeing was definitely not my best ally; The image of the Moon on the computer screen swayed from side to side as a result of atmospheric fluctuations. A lunar photograph does not remotely live up to the view through the eyepiece of my maksutov telescope; The poor vision that was evident with the camera was not noticeable to direct view and all was calm in the soft, deep contrast of the telescope. An intense glow towards the lunar terminator and then, the deepest darkness.
Gassendi rises above the Mare Humorum crowned by a circular rim, barely distorted here by the effect of foreshortening, and a small crater that breaks the edge, generating the visual idea of a diamond ring; Cracks come and go between cliffs and fissures forged in stone and lava millions of years ago.
Perhaps due to the turbulence or my own inexperience, the photograph is far from being a good lunar photo, but it preserves the spatial mystery and the indecipherable sensation of silence of a mythical lunar wasteland.

I love the attention to detail in Buddhist Temples. I have still to work out the significance of everything
There are days where nothing works…and there are days when everything works.
It was a decent-enough sunrise. I have the pictures to prove it. But this is the best picture of the morning. Dawn reflected on the hood of my car. I didn’t even wash it. Manual focus too.

There must be some connection between nature + government + health, hey? Here in New Zealand, where I am so grateful to live, we just hit 100 days with no COVID-19 transmissions. Maybe this is just my hippy side, but I think being one with nature and taking care of the Earth around you helps the expanded ecosystem. I mean, everything is not perfect here and there are still problems to protect the environment, but we're on the right path. If you want to watch some good movies about this stuff, I recommend Samsara and Baraka. This photo is from the Southern Alps.
