338 makes the daily trek towards Kirk Yard with a morning departure out of Waterloo. Here the train passes over Prairie Creek just outside of Masonville, about 40 mile east of Waterloo. Not alot of old wooden trestles left along the mainline in Iowa, but a few cool ones still holding up freight. The fog overnight has been coating everything in heavy frost for the past few days!

Everything is bone-dry and dusty now, and the winter rains are late. I'm taking a moment to remember California at it's lushest.

In contrast to my previous post with its warm tones, this image depicts Copperhouse Pool at Hayle during the blue hour. It's just pity that there wasn't a golden hour to go before it, but then again, you can't have everything. I wanted to compose the image with the wharfe-side reflections fully included within the bottom of the frame. I then waited a few minutes until the ripples from passing vessels had settled before triggering this long exposure.
The first thing that catches your eye here is the absence of lively groups of students running from one building of the institute to another or sitting on benches between lectures and noisily discussing something... War changes everything...

Everything is green at home now, but up here in Maine it seems to be in neon. Bright, and dark, the green shines through.

My watercolour and ink landscape painting, on top of the same sky as last time, i used a layer mask, but cant for the life of me remember which one i chose now!
Everything is so green and beautiful the light was stunning and some flora were starting to wilt as spring weather was early and the colours are still so beautiful under the woodland trees..
Last Saturday, Northern Ireland had it's first snowfall this Winter.... I was so excited when I looked out that morning and saw these zonking great snowflakes falling... by 10am it was like a blizzard... naturally, I headed off to my favourite place... Parkanaur Forest Park!
The deer were huddled in a corner and there was no way I could get near them, so I settled for taking shots of the trees :) My Canon was going to get destroyed by the elements and instead I used my mobile phone, my new Samsung Galaxy S5... not bad actually, cos you can still make out the massive snowflakes falling in front of the trees!
I apologise for not being around on Flickr over the past month or so, life has been tough, and it's been a pretty rough year, but 2016 is just round the corner and it can only get better!
I don't know if I'll get back on before Christmas, so if not, I want to wish all my Flickr friends a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I have loved seeing your work and reading your comments on mine, thank you for taking the time to check them out :)
