Let me tell you, every dancer that took the stage on Saturday was talented. Each one was my favorite. But, I have to tell you, that my camera loved this dancer in particular. Every single photo she is in is perfect. Everyone. Every stinking one!
There really are photogenic people. I, myself, am not one of them. And that is exactly why I am behind the camera.
Every November and December, the seals give birth to their pups near the sand dunes: a wildlife spectacle which attracts visitors from across the UK.

Every year on February 6th, men in Shingu city, Wakayama, carry lit torches as they run down a long flight of steep stone stairs from a shrine into the city. It was my first time to see it. Judging from how tired most of the entrants are, it's a lot harder than it sounds.
I took my tripod but the crowd was such that it just got in the way. So I put the legs together, held my camera over the crowd with it, and used my cable release to take these pics. It worked pretty well I thought!

Every year in Villach there is a two day festival where juggler, street musicians, acrobats and many other artists show what they can. Every year this a very enjoyable event with many people to meet.

satellite dishes were on every single roof I saw in marrakech, even on houses that didn't seem to have running water.
Whenever we get the chance to visit Tagaytay City, we always make it a point to pass by the Good Shepherd Sisters Convent to buy goodies and sweets. My daughter really likes the Ube Dimples from that place. It is a soft chewy candy made from yam and sprinkled with sugar.

in part three of keks-inspired shopping yesterday (word-of-mouth propaganda does work) i bought a ipod+nike kit. finally having more time at hand it's a good opportunity to get out and running.

Every time I go to Shanghai I go to Chenghuangmiao to see good old toy shops. However over the years with inflation and higher rents forced those small shops disappear one by one.
This time I only see two big Japanese goods & toys shops (Superman Toy and Toy Man Jia) and other micro size shops and toys on wheels in the area. The place used to be packed with interesting local or knock off Chinese toys – crude but charming – but now toys there are more expensive Japanese toys.
However it is the same trend in many big cities I have been though. I would call it Japanese cultural triumphant which is stronger than any nuclear missiles.
Every night the crows roost in different locations in Minneapolis. Tonight, they chose my neighborhood.
I’m not big on music. I occasionally listen to something in the background, but more often I listen to books or (much more rarely) podcasts. The only exception is during exercise. You really need rhythm to motivate yourself to run or lift weights.
Stuart plays guitar, and I’m glad the girls have inherited some of his enthusiasm. At this stage (with no training at all) it’s too early to judge talent. But they play every instrument they have with gusto!
Kiara especially likes to listen to music while she draws or does crafts. I’ve been surprised to realize she enjoys Classical music too — and for one whole summer her favourite song was a Swedish choir rendition of Santa Lucia (a reference that probably makes more sense to anyone from Scandinavia).
