"Evening Closure:" This was the last photo I took on this particular evening at the Grand Canyon, as the light was fading and the rain began to come down, and I still had a 20 minute hike back to the car. But the solitude afforded here was peaceful.

I'm already very happy with the new place for the minerals in our house. They look so much nicer when properly lit.

Mirfield
Immingham-based Class 37 37153 has just come off the Huddersfield line as it speeds towards Mirfield with this odd assortment. Taken at 7.40pm
From a blurred image restored with Topaz AI software
falls softly on the blossoms of the Flowering Crabapple tree. This year, sadly, the blooms did not last long. The unseasonably high temperatures (in the 80s) caused them to fade away.
Some unusually calm weather over a couple of days provided both sunrise and sunset opportunities for photography.
Here, not really much going on, just the visual music before the show gets started ... this sunset series is staring to shape up.
An evening shower passes to the north near the famed Mason Dixon Line on Norfolk Southern's Lurgan Branch on May 22, 2015. NS local K80 with 3383, an ex Conrail SD40-2 leading shuffles cars from Greencastle, PA to Hagerstown, MD for pick up.
The Yellow Mounds of the Badlands was easily a favorite stop, particularly so, on this evening. While the mustard color of the mounds usually take center stage at this stop, the sky was stole the show. Enjoy!
