A pleasant little nook near Jackson Lake in the Grand Tetons in Wyoming. I went there with Jeff Clow the evening before his great Dirt Cheap Photo Tour.

baking an apple cake and cleaning my apartment . it is good to be home in a clean space that smells like cake...

I sowed some Evening Primrose, (oenothera), seeds in my garden several years ago, in two different shades of yellow, they still pop up from time to time, in different places, this year one of each has grown, the flowers open at dusk and fade quickly as the sun reaches them. I took this photograph on a misty morning.

Taken @ Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada.

I watched a small flock of Evening Grosbeaks yesterday in the Fraser Valley, BC, Canada

Here is the Evening star known as Venus. The clouds kept rolling in, and for split second, Venus reappeared and I captured, it, before the clouds decided to cover it again. The Bright star you see in the Photo is Venus. You may need to zoom in a little to see it.

Evening in Duisburg, Germany

Late evening, a few hours after sailing from Seward, Alaska.

It's not often you get to see these birds up close, so I was happy to see this flock Saturday morning!

A late afternoon/early evening departure from Soo yard LO-34 was a fine chase during the longer daylight months of the year. Here's 4151 and 6534 getting 57 cars on the roll at Trout Lake on May 28, 1994.

Today I am posting two more photos of Sunday's sunset. It was a good way to "celebrate" the end of Daylight Savings Time.

“Trees, Evening Light” — A role of pine trees at the edge of a subalpine meadow catches the last evening light.

Yosemite’s Tuolumne Meadows, in the park’s high country, is situationed in such a way that it gets special and quite changeable evening light. The meadow runs roughly east-west, so the sun sets at one end and sends its light along the meadow’s length. As the sunset develops, long shadows play across the landscape, and bits of warm light appear here and there.

I suspect that most people looking at this photograph may get a sense of calm and stillness. That’s not inaccurate, but photographing this ephemeral light is quite different from photographing more static subjects. In fact, I was working madly to grab this frame before that last bit of warm light on the trees was consumed by the encroaching shadows.

Once I was walking on the Drumadoon beach on Isle of Arran and came across this scene. I don't think there could be more favorable conditions for creating a photo.

we were out last night, I had a Roxy day today and I'm now tired. I've started to catch up and will do a little more, but will be asleep before I complete! So back tomorrow evening . . .

The beautiful seaside town of Porthleven Corrnwall. A common viewpoint but at a different time of day to most images you'll see from this vantage point, this gives a new perspective to a familiar scene.

Roadside just south of Moab

They've taken down the fence that enclosed the field...I rather prefer the images with the fence, but this scene was still beautiful...from my perch.

March 2024. With a very calm evening and just a little bit of sunlight. Personally I like the softness regarding colors and light.
