It seems harder than ever to lose myself in my photography. I force myself, but my heart isn't in it.
Silence is therefore important even in the life of faith and in our deepest encounter with God. We cannot always be talking, praying in words or keeping up a kind of devout background music. Much of our well-meant interior religious dialogue is, in fact, a smoke screen and an evasion. Much of it is simply self-reassurance and in the end is little better than self-justification. Toronto is a beautiful city. It's called a "City Within A Park" because it's surrounded by a lot of green space and the lake. I enjoy biking at Tommy Thompson Park in the evenings because the sunset is often spectacular. Just beware of mosquitos at this time of the year.

I spotted a flock of Evening Grosbeak in the Columbia Valley south of Cultus Lake. They could be heard quite clearly but they were doing most of their feeding in the conifers and it made it difficult to see them.

Another one of those great evening moods on the loop. Calm wind, a few clouds and the setting sun - pure romance.
The diet of evening grosbeak is mostly seeds, some berries and insects. Seeds make up majority of diet, especially seeds of box elder, ash, maple, locust, and other trees. Also feeds on buds of deciduous trees, berries, small fruits, weed seeds.
