Taken at the Scottsdale Pavilions Car Show on 2/26/22.

Olympus E-M1X and OM System 20mm f1.4 Pro lens with circular polarizer.

My first pair of etched copper earrings. There was a lot of research behind this creation - sourcing the chemicals, the special paper needed, the process, then diving in like a mad scientist to see if it would work. This was my first try, and hopefully it will get better from here on in. Etched copper, Peruvian opals, handmade ear wires - Rune Stone Design. I've been truant from Flicker for so long now. . . but it feels good to post pics again.

Benched in Southern California

etched, domed copper, heat patinaed pendant, on sterling silver backing plate

From series of Etch-a-Sketch nudes, Feb-June 2011

An update on the old 'What's in my Bag' idea. My original one (from 2007) is here. Taken in the same spot, with the same crappy lighting. At least the laptop is silver this time.

Hollow like all the rest, but a little heavier because of the substantial box end

Looking into Nevis range

Woodlands Historic Park provides a fascinating glimpse of the landscapes and wildlife seen by European settlers in the 1840s. The park has a 150-year old homestead, Indigenous canoe trees, native woodland and grassland. The fenced ‘Back Paddock’ is a great spot to see kangaroos, birds and other wildlife.

Last weekend I had some an opportunity to head out into the country and took this shot. The temperatures was in the low minus teens celsius and the wind was in the 40 to 60 km range. I was wearing my warmest clothes. This is what happens to snow in these conditions. You can sort of see the whisps of snow blown by the wind.

Always fun to jump in with the Photoshop filters and just let the image kind of recreate itself.

The only reason why this piece exists is because I happened to have had an etch a sketch on me on my train ride home yesterday, and my wallet contains this yoshi.

I finished the layout on the train, and rendered the shading when I returned to my apartment. I would have uploaded it last night, but it's best to take photos of etch-a-sketch work in the natural sunlight.

I spent roughly an hour and a half on this one. I thought of adding a background, but I really liked the simple composition and didn't want to make it too busy.
