It's amazing how much work has been put into every last place, and I can promise you can find at least one sim that really speaks to you. If the people themselves don't. Most, including myself, have experienced the effects this miserable disease can have on themselves and loved ones. Strength comes in hope and unity, however, every little step getting us closer to a brighter future, I'm sure of that.

Some Interesting patterns are etched out of the rocks from eons of erosion.

White Pocket in Northern Arizona is a special place that holds many amazing opportunities to capture a landscape beyond anything you've ever seen. In this image I was getting ready to shoot the Milkyway and as the Sun was setting this place transformed into another planet.
This is a 15 image focus stack. That may seem extreme, but the low angle required many more images to get it tac sharp from edge to edge.

Sea cliffs on Heimaey, the Westman Islands, Iceland.
The caves and smaller hollows in the cliffs have been formed by wave action. Some of the waves were over 33m (100ft) in height.
The caves and pits in the rocks provide nesting sites for seabirds such as gulls, gannets and guillemots. Puffins nest in grassy areas where they can dig their burrows.
The ladder and ropes which are visible are used by local people to collect seabirds and seabird eggs for food.
Mount Rushmore - what a place! I captured a panorama of these gigantic sculptures last summer. Carved from the solid granite of the Black Hills of South Dakota, it's stunning to see in person. Unfortunately, the sky was pretty flat, so I replaced it with a sunset I shot in Utah. Much better. :)

Just another day at Garie Beach
Many places in the world worth traveling to require a great amount of sacrifice and risk. Of course the places located in areas like this are highly rewarding because people in general are creatures of convenience. Personally I tend to push myself, but I must admit that relaxing has it's allure. In fact I'm much more acclimated to first world luxuries than I'd like to admit.
To get deep into the desert requires major off road capabilities. In addition to this minor detail, there's the fact that you're in the desert which is inhospitable at best, and at worst can be a twist of flash floods, deep soft sand, lightning storms, chilling temperatures, or searing heat at any given period of the year. Not to mention the scorpions or spiders that tend to make their homes here.
Regardless, the beauty of the desert will blossom for those who are patient and willing to explore. I once thought the desert was a place of barren solitude fraught with dead life and nothing much to see. And although I was right about the inhospitable nature, I was sorely wrong about the desolate drab barren vista that I perceived it to be. Some places are a twisted etch a sketch of beautiful formations like this seen here in the high southwest plateau.
It has been a few days now since the Cosmic Storm event, but I could not resist posting just one more. On the move, it has been days since working on my computer, but here goes the image that looks like a painting in the sky
Yep....another shot ruined by people...here I was all lined up to take an instructional shot....about the making of the Rideau Canal..... and these peeps showed up as I clicked....lol..... but I've accepted it...I love how this turned out....and they are now etched into the history of Ottawa....cool..

My 3 sisters and I used to fight over the Etch-a-Sketch when we were kids and we could really draw some cool stuff on it..this reminds me of the lines that covered the screen but never ended...Have an awesome week everyone! Thank you for dropping in to 'my little world" now and then!

Bank on Cherry Street in Tulsa has a huge etched display, I have wanted to capture this for months but finally got the right angle.
As humans, we all have experienced moments in our daily lives when a setting reached out and caressed our soul. Sunrises, sunsets, a sky filled with threatening clouds or when we stand on an isolated beach watching the curling of waves approaching and dying on wet sand are brief moments that have stirred countless folks in otherwise normal days.
Several days ago as my wife and I were out early and approaching a wetland pond that is split by a quiet country road, the inversion of ground and air temperatures created a momentary glimpse of a surreal sunrise punctuated by fog obscuring the road lined by some white birch trees and corn that is starting to turn colors.
As we stopped to take a few photos, the pre-historic sound of a couple sand hill cranes stabbed through the fog overhead giving us just a quick glimpse as they passed by using their GPS in the murky air.
The melted colors at the arrival of another day heightened our gratefulness for life itself.
