A lot of history and passing of many a millennia have been etched into the granite coast around Gracetown in Western Australia. Each line and crease have, no doubt, their own story to tell.

I took this photo after sunset to take advantage of the glow present in the sky to illuminate the rocks and it imbued a beautiful reddish hue which enhanced the colour of the granite.

One of my favorites places to explore is Monument Valley Utah. This image was captured in the morning light casting long shadows and enhancing the beautiful red rock.

I've been back a little over a week from my spring trip to Shenandoah National Park, and while I haven't had a chance to go through everything yet, this was one of my favorite moments of the trip. It was a short hike on the last night, and everything just seemed to come together. Winds subsided from the previous day, the sun broke through, warming the valley below, and maybe most importantly, I had the place to myself. I find it challenging to compose a meaningful image amongst the crowds, especially when visiting an area for the first time. I like to move around quite a bit, exploring different angles, focusing on the details I find interesting while not losing sight of the bigger picture, and trying to piece it all together like a puzzle. When all distractions are removed, time seems to slow to a snail's pace, and light becomes the center of my attention. Those are the moments I cherish most.

While going through some old poems over the holidays, I realized one of them could become a song. I spent the past month working on it, and along the way I noticed how much it was shaped by my mum’s music taste—she used to play Simon & Garfunkel and Aqua back to back, without irony.

I first wrote this as a teenager, during a time when I lost a close friend in a car accident. It was a long time ago, and I’ve made peace with it—but revisiting the song brought back memories of the good moments we shared, not the loss.

This is my first music video of the year.

Etched. Hope it Brings back found memories of people you miss as well.

Nature's etchings in sandstone can be found all over the spectacular landscape of the Navajo and Hopi Indian Reservations in northern Arizona.

Bone in burner, no description needed here.

Only 4 of these glasses remain. I thought they were beautiful as a child, old fashioned as a teen, quaint as a young woman and now I see them as beautiful again.

Stranger in the camp at Derby Etches Park depot on 06/10/21 as 66794 waits for 6Z81 1332 to Chaddesden to be loaded with spoil, which is being removed to allow work to commence on depot improvements ahead of the new Aurora units arriving.

Is this the first freight train in Etches Park since the end of diesel fuel deliveries from Stanlow?

The drone has picked out a wide vista, with both railway sites and landmarks on view, ranging from the new bow string bridge over the A52 at top left, Ratcliffe power station, and the massive warehouses at East Midlands airport/EM Gateway at top right.

Etching a photo onto brass with ferric chloride. I should have given it more time to etch deeper, but I'll try again some other time.
