Error by Vendel & de Wolf, the very big art installation at Westferry Circus as part of the 2025 Winter Lights at Canary Wharf. I'd got shots of this work on my Lumix the week previously when we had visited with friends but I couldn't seem to get a good shot then. So giving it a second go I was more pleased with the shots taken on my Canon DSLR.

Bei Sichtung der letzten Aufnahmen entdeckte ich etwas wirklich Schräges. Was für eine merkwürdige Struktur auf dem Buchenblatt. Hallo, sowas macht doch kein Insekt. Entweder handelt es sich um einen Fehler in der Matrix, oder die Waldgeister haben sich einen Schabernack mit mir erlaubt.
While checking my last captures I discovered something really extraordinary. What a strange structure on this beech leaf. Come on guys, no insect draws a pattern like this. Either I spotted an error in the matrix, or the forest spirits played tricks on me.
Colorful rhythms in the breeze
Web strands shot during wind movement and under bright conditions provide an optical spectrum feast, due to waves of light being scattered by the silk - diffraction - speed of the shutter, and quantity of softness from a softly focused lens, i.e. not focused sharply on the web threads at any given moment.
Much of what I capture is by trial and error and a good deal of luck, not judgement, as I react spontaneously to these intriguing opportunities. The light however, has to be right.
