The snowy egret (Egretta thula) is a small white heron. The genus name comes from the Provençal French for the little egret aigrette, a diminutive of aigron, "heron". The species name thula is the Araucano for the Black-necked Swan, applied to this species in error by Chilean naturalist Juan Ignacio Molina in 1782.[2]

Cosas del directo.
A veces se cometen errores tontos. En este caso, al no cambiar la configuración de la cámara, pretendí hacer fotos de 30" seguidas durante unos 45min, pero hice fotos de 30", con otro intervalo de 30" entre foto y foto. Así que todas las estelas están cortadas. Fallo tonto al no revisar la configuración del intervalómetro incorporado en la cámara. Es lo que hay. Lo que está claro, es que no volverá a pasar. Jajajajaja.

En esta foto cometí un error bastante abultado de exposición, nada más que 5 pasos enteros. Normalmente uso una aplicación que se llama light meter y este día salí con dos camaras y la otra llevaba un Washi de ISO 12, que sin darme cuenta quedó así marcado en el medidor cuando expuse esta foto (y la siguiente que hice) sobreexponiéndola mucho. Pensé sencillamente que las habría perdido y aparecerían blancas, pero al parecer la oscuridad de la noche es bastante permisiva con estos errores, y hasta se ve el mar de fondo, cosa que nunca hubiera pasado de exponer a ISO 400. Eso si he dado un poco de contraste a la foto, pero el resultado final me agrada y es diferente. También se aprecia en una esquina una estela de las luces de un coche.

A scan of slide derived from Kodak Eastman Double-X pushed 2 stops and reversed in PQ Universal
You can see a development error on display (particles in the midle) - ran out of Sulfuric acid, thus made my Permanganate bleach even weaker than usually. That gave me an idea to push this bleach to the limits - to bleach with this poor man's bleach without additional time for compensation. Result: a tad underbleached - just a tad and without any additional time! When the situation repeats itself, I'll add a minute or two of bleaching time and bleach to completion.
This tells me that I'm on the right track with using dilute (~66%) Bleach to begin with by mixing parts 1A + 1B (as in recipe) + 1 Water. This has the additional bonus of splitting Parts A and B nicely in 10 working solutions! And using dilute bleach means less frequent handling of angry concentrated chemicals.
So - dilute bleach is safer for emulsion, safer to handle and it saves on chemicals. Best part - bleaching time stays the same!
